woohoo!!!

Um, no. I wanna know who the bad guys are! :) At least there wasn't as much confusion for me as I, Omega. I did like this book and feel like I'm missing the other half of the book. For all I know, at the end, it may not be a HEA or HFN. I'm trying to remember the last book I read of yours that even had a HEA. I can't think of one. O_o

I considered IO a HEA. Also Spoils of War. Yes, everybody wants to see that HEA happen for Micah and Eli in living color, but I don't think there's any doubt at the end of Spoils that Micah and Eli will make it (and I don't just mean do the deed, lol).
If I leave a plot point not tied into a neat bow (ITR: the case; Collared: the evolving politics/legalities of the changing world), I do lean heavily toward HFN, though. The heroes are together, but they still have a challenge to face. We can be reasonably confident they're up to the task, together, but the road, it's gonna be rocky. For me, it's a journey and by the time, those heroes get their HEA, they'll have both earned and deserve it. Which is a nice way of saying that I'm a cruel bitch. ;-)

:) IO was a HEA? Where the hell was I? Spoils of War - eh, okay, I can kind of see that one. Torture your characters much?

Gabriel took Cal to task for shifting before Gabriel got there and hiding his beast from Gabriel. He isn't afraid anymore. To me, that signaled a big, big step for Gabriel in the right direction. He disagreed with Cal and asserted himself, without having a panic attack or a meltdown. He's found his feet. He's come through the other side. So yeah, to me, IO was a HEA. Cal is a butthead and will make mistakes, but Gabriel is now steady enough to call him on it.

Heh. >:D

Spoils being a HEA was actually somewhat disingenuous, as there are challenges the reader doesn't become aware of until the sequel. In the journey to freedom, you just don't get to see much of Micah and Eli's world; that story is focused narrowly on the two of them. The sequel shows them in their socio-cultural/familial context, how each of them fit in their world now that Micah is free.
Collared definitely was a HFN to me. In The Red, for me, was probably leaning toward HEA but not as clearly to me as I, Omega and Spoils."
Yeah, the conflicts that have yet to be faced in Collared and ITR are more clearly defined, whereas in Spoils they are not. IO...less so. You just know Gabriel's dad isn't going to buy that flimsy story Cal concocted, LOL. What we don't know is how hard he's going to push and what other problems may arise (among other packs, etc).

I'm working on it now, BA. Well, the Spoils of War sequel (Plunder) and a zombie apocalypse story (Dead Reckoning). I haven't signed contracts for either story, though, so no announcements or release dates yet. Hell, I'm still not sure what I'll do with them. I wasn't going to sign either of them on prop(osal, for an unfinished manuscript), but that does get the stories into readers' hands faster. I'd already be on the schedule, which is set months & months ahead of time, while I wrap the story up. More efficient.
