Carl Ashmore - Time Hunters and the Box of Eternity (#2 in series)
It's about time, Carl. I have been waiting months for this book. Will buy my copy for kindle as soon as I get caught up on all my posts.
Got it. I can't believe it is only $2.99. What a bargain. I will read and review as soon as I can.
Just got it here too on UK Kindle for just £1.71 which I think equates to around the same as US. Its jumped to front of my long queue of next reads, lol. I almost feel guilty paying such a low price but I hope I will have earned the discount when I write a review upon finishing ;)
Good luck with your sales, Carl.

I know what you mean, Tej. If this book is as good as the first, it is worth three times what it's priced at... Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

Hi John, and thanks. You were so very kind with the first book. I hope you enjoy the sequel :)
Thanks, Tej. Again, I just hope you like it.
And bless you, Aloha.
What a lovely group this is.xx
I'm sure I will enjoy it, Carl. And I hope you know my comment about waiting so long was made in jest. Although I have been eager for book two to come out. Have you started book three yet? Just kidding.

Talking about book 3, have you got a planned set number of book for this series, Carl?
Loving the opening chapters so far. I was actually going through a serious reading drought the last couple of months. I needed a book like this to snap me back into groove. I blame my sudden games addiction since I purchased a PS3 several weeks ago!

And yes, there will be five TH books. I hope you are enjoying it:)

Well, Carl. I'm about a third of the way through the new book, and I have to say that I am loving it. The story is easy to read, engaging, and fun. I also love the subtle references to some of my other favorite movies (Back to the Future) and video games (Monkey Island). I will post a review as soon as I'm finished. I also want to encourage you to consider providing a copy of the first book for the giveaways I'm working on for 2012. You can find details in the following discussion thread:

I would be happy to be involved in your giveaways :)

I have several books to read for monthly book clubs and I will be traveling, so it will be a while before I get to read it. I bought it immediately after reading about because it sounds great.....Cannot wait to get into it as soon as I get caught up.
I love the book clubs, but I keep getting new books like this that I want to read and the waiting kills me! What a problem to have huh? thanks to everyone here for coming up with smashing ideas for more TBR's.

Hi Carl, I just finished reading your book and it was a blast. I have written my review on Amazon.co.uk and Goodreads.
I went through a reading block for nearly 2 months half way through the book, nothing to do with the pacing of your story, its me, it just happens. I have no idea why , it doesnt make sense. Writers block, yes but not reading block!

That is cool. For me, I would want a bright yellow Corvette. Not the new one, but rather one of the old ones from like the 1970s with the huge fiberglass body.

Love it. The caddy is probably more pratical for transporting a group of people. The corvette would be a little cramped for more than two. But it looks cool.

So what you're saying is that we can buy a time machine for a mere €89.95? Sounds kinda of cheap.
I just started reading your first book, so I'm still just traveling around in a VW van.
Ok. Just a question ... How does one manage to time travel from England to the USA? That one always baffles me ... even in a VW van with oars.

And there are no oars in Bertha. Now if you ever read the second 'Time Hunters' book, you'll meet Beryl - and that's a different story :) x
John, any chance of a link to the corvette you're referring to?
Here you go Carl:

I think the fiberglass body would be very condusive to time traveling, much like the stainless steel body of the Delorean in "Back to the Future."

You couldn't miss that one on the road! Luckily, there's a cloaking mechanism.
You know, I would imagine it would be easy for someone from the future to over-generalize car and fashion style information for their time travels. For example, a person decides to time travel to 2012, decides that all fashion for the 1900s and 2000s is fairly equal, and dresses more appropriately for the 1910s with a car generic to more of a 1980s era. I once saw a guy with a fedora driving a 1960s-esque car with absolutely no brand markings. The car looked absolutely new in every aspect, but the material the car was made from and the windows were made from looked very different than what I normally see on a car. I immediately thought that that would be something you'd probably see in the true time traveler who tried to create their own transportation and fashion for their travels. The big mistake would be getting your information off such that you were wearing fashion or driving a car that was too futuristic. Whereas we'd not think twice about seeing a guy in a fedora, if someone drove one of those nice yellow sports cars that John linked to down a street in the 1920s and got out of it dressed like The Fonz, I think some heads would definitely turn. Oops.

Oh, that's a TH3 first that I've never mentioned anywhere.

BTW Carl, I finally got the revised version of TH1 for my kindle. I'm eager to read it again. Amazon ended up giving me a $3 credit so I could purchase the revised copy at no cost. Hope that helps boost your sales numbers.

I'll keep you all informed of all developments.
Hope everyone is well :)

Carl has two books that are part of the Time Hunter series. The first is simply called "The Time Hunters" and the second is "The Time Hunters and the Box of Eternity." Both are available in paperback through Amazon, and I highly recommend them both. Although they are considered young adult fiction, this 45-year-old loves them. Carl is planning on five books in the series, with the next book scheduled for release in 2013.

I'd just like to thank Marchin's mum for the 65th (Out of 73) FIVE star review of The Time Hunters in the UK.
It's also got another five star one in America which makes 40 out of 41 four and five star reviews over there.
I'm chuffed.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Carl
You wanna know how to get even more five-star reviews? Finish book three so we have a new book to review. Pleeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzz?

Oh, okay. I will give you a break, but only for your kid. I'm sure it will be well worth the wait.

Well done on such an interesting story! Happy to learn there will be 5 books. I am really excited to read the next one, any ideas when it will come out? There are so many questions that I need answering...and only more books will help ;)

Hope you are well. Thank you for your kind message. Apologies for not responding sooner but I have been busy writing TH3! I am hoping to release it around March next year. Thank you for your support and I am so glad that you enjoyed it.
Carl x :)

I hope all the members are well. May I be so bold as to invite you all to look at my time travel books 'The Time Hunters' and the newly released (today) 'The Time Hunters and the Box of Eternity'. They are on Amazon in paperback and Kindle, and also on Smashwords.
Here's the blurb :
'The Time Hunters and the Box of Eternity' is the second in the bestselling Time Hunters saga.
Becky and Joe Mellor return to Bowen Hall for the half term holidays to find things are as unusual as ever. Of course, that's to be expected when you're sharing a stately home with a dinosaur, a winged horse, two sabre-tooth tigers, Will Scarlet and Bowen Hall's latest resident - a dodo named Deirdre. Things, however, get more intriguing when American time traveller, Bruce Westbrook, arrives with two gold doubloons that seem to possess strange, supernatural powers.
So begins a thrilling adventure that leads Becky, Joe, Uncle Percy and Will to 1920s Chicago, Victorian Edinburgh and the 18th Century Caribbean - battling gangsters, pirates, sea-monsters and zombie sharks on a quest for the legendary Pandora's Box ...
The clock is still ticking ...
PRAISE FOR 'THE TIME HUNTERS' BOOKS:
'I really enjoyed reading THE TIME HUNTERS. You start off the action with a bang, drawing the reader in right away. Your writing is strong, and in places has a classic feel....It has terrific potential.'
HARPER COLLINS
This is a wonderful adventure. It has the magic of Lewis Carroll and Kenneth Grahame, the inventiveness of Roald Dahl and the writing skill of Rudyard Kipling in my opinion. It is the natural successor to Harry Potter. Brilliant!
