No doubt.
and DAVY PRENTISS!
Yes, President/Mayor/David the first Prentiss is a close third.
I love them, though, because of how caught they are between the realms of Good and Bad. They can't seem to decide. And neither could I! Especially with 1017...
Did any one else notice that 1017 was gay?

My favorite character... Viola, maybe?

Yeah 1017 was ok, but in the 3rd book sometimes I found myself wanting to het through his parts quickly so I could get back to Todd's and Viola's. Just the way it was written and the language used wasn't as good as the traditional "Todd speak" ...and I just liked Viola's parts better too.
As for my favorite character, I have to say Todd because I love his strong voice and complexities in personality and his decicions made, good or bad. Plus his point of veiw was used the most by far so I have more to judge him on. Mayor Prentiss is a close second and definitly my favorite villain of any book I've ever read. He's just such a different kind of villain and as evil as the devil yet can tug at your heart just as much as the protagonists do in this series.
I think if Davy Prentiss would have survived until the end I would have loved his character a lot too. It's amazing how much he changed in The Ask and the Answer for the better. In fact I'll say it's amazing how all the main characters change in this series.
Also of course I love Viola. She's so strong and confident and never annoying. I can't say that for many lead female characters in books.
Hildy and Tam were cool too. They were funny. And Manchee was just too adorable and funny and loyal to Todd.

Bloody

I loved their attatchments to Todd and Viola. Especially how Angharrad seemed to keep Todd grounded (somewhat) throughout the entire second book.
I believe Davy had plenty of time to make himself known, and it was his death that brought me to love him. His apology, the way he was pleading to have at least one person love him in the end, really gripped at me. He was alone, and dying alone, he was begging Todd, his brother to forgive him.
Thus, he is one of my obsessions.
It wasn't the writing style used in 1017's parts of the book that intrigued me. Nor was it his point of view at all. I loved him from the beginning. Not in the way you'd expect, mind you. I was afraid of him. As a Fanfiction writer, I tend to create the personalities of all characters caught in the background. Taking what little I knew about him, I helped his character along in my own mind.
And then when his point of view came along, I learned more and more about him, and it was the parallel that Ness created between him and Todd that really got me interested in his character.
Sometimes, to make a character your favorite, you have to use some imagination to make him a real character at all.
And good old Mayor Prentiss...
His attachment to Todd and abandonment of his own son was what brought him into my heart. I hated him. But you have to care for something to hate it, and as he swayed from villain to protagonist and back again, I found myself caring a lot more.
When Todd saved him, and I read his reaction-
I knew he wasn't going to be leaving my thoughts any time soon.
The brief pain at Ben's return, the madness it sparked within him, when he realized he really couldn't control the power he wanted...
And his suicide, in order to save the innocence of the one he then considered his son.
The ultimate sacrifice, the ultimate redemption.
He said he believed in redemption, if you remember?
And he tried his hardest to achieve it.

And Manchee! I loved the way his part was written. so sad...

Yeah I loved wilf, it was the fact that he was so unpredictable...

Totally agree!!! (heartbreak)

I love todd too, he is just the best but i like too choose not the one everything turns around...

I looove Davy too, it seems that everyone does that xD I don't like Lee very much, though.
I love Wilf, Jane, Todd, Viola, Davy, Ben, Maddy and Mistress Lawson. I like The Return too, actually. The first couple of times I read the series I didn't like him, so maybe I'll start liking Lee eventually :P
And Manchee and Angharrad of course! They're both adorable.

Wilf, Lee, 1017 and Ben were all amazing characters too.
I chose Mayor Prentiss as my favorite in the series because he appears in all three books, but my other favorite would be Manchee :(
