Genre Readers looking to expand discussion

This is a place to discuss the group read Wicked.

Beth, I know you said you wanted to read this and I am sure you are going to enjoy this. I certainly did the first time around.

Wicked is one of those books that you more than likely go in after reading the Oz books by L. Frank Baum or seen the Wizard of Oz movie. I read this book a while back, and I really enjoyed learning how all the characters known--Dorothy, Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, Scarecrow, Glinda the Good Witch, and the Wicked Witch of the West--all came to be who they are known from the previous Oz books. As my sister is borrowing it at the moment, I cannot finish the rereading I started this summer.

I read this book some years ago when it first came out. It's an interesting take on Baum's characters, showing a different side of all of them. I enjoyed it.
