You are right. It will be pretty much the same, except for the read-a-thons. I believe there will be a few more of those.
Sadly though, I don't think I will be around next year. I have a lot of groups I'm in and I need to cut down on some. I'll miss you all.
my goal for 2012 is to read 50 book.

hi Drake - welcome to the group - throw up your tracking thread in the 50's club and have fun ;)

Welcome! You will love this site - it is so nice to find others who love reading as much as we do!
Hi! I am a new member and my goal for the year is 150 books. Being a retired English teacher, I do not think I could live without books. I am really excited about finding a book club like this one. It is great to have fellow book lovers with whom we share our thoughts about books.

I have been an avid reader all of my life. I am an only child and think books were my siblinbgs when I was younger and a great educator and comfort in my older years. I began keeping a list of every book I read since I was 9 years old. I will be a young 65 in May so you can imagine how long this list is now. Very often I look back at these titles and remember where I was or what I was doing when I read that book.
If you don't do this now, it's never too late to begin.
2011 was a record breaking year. I read more books than any other year- 140 books. Not sure if I can do this again so I set my goal at 125. So far I've read 48 books.

However, I am looking forward to those readathons because I will need to play catch up. When I have essays to grade, which is ALL the time, and after school play rehearsals for the shows I direct, I can not read as much. SO then I play catch-up and read a ton in weeks I don't have as many papers to grade. Hopefully, those read-a-thons correspond to weeks I have more time. I am not really sure how they will work, but I hope I can figure it out!

I would give anything to be able to say that. This week is Aims week at my school, so I don't have essays to grade or play rehearsals, and I am on book 4 for the week, and the week just started. But the rest of the time, it takes me a month to finish 1 measly book because I have so many papers to grade.
However, your post inspired me, I can play catch up in the summer, so I should raise my goal.
Recently, someone asked me what I wish I could be able to do. My response: "Read every single book on my to-read list (345 books)." On goodreads, I only have 82 on my to-read list, but on my excel spreadsheet, I have 345. I would LOVE to do that, and that start creating another to-read list. AHHHH so so many good books so little time.
Ok, back to reading Delirium by Lauren Oliver. So far, I am loving it!
