Al you're able to take cool self portraits with cool makeup which is something that I fail at horribly :-D

I'm saving up for a DSLR but I'm pretty content with my two film cameras and my powershot :-)
My favorite camera is my Argus C4. There's something lovely about a camera that doesn't require batteries. ;-) <#

I love photography but I rarely ever get around to doing any because cameras are a rarity in my house...
Mostly they end up broken....heh oops

I want to be able to do shots like these: http://findmeinthemist.blogspot.com/2... (macro) as well as landscape shots.
I want a camera that won't randomly fall apart, get dust on the lens, or have the lens get stuck.
I've been looking at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002... and http://www.amazon.com/Canon-XS-Digita...
and I have zero experience with fancy cameras XD went through a barbie camera, several disposable cameras, an iPod, a cell phone, and 2 samsung cameras that both randomly broke. so like, if I got the canon rebel what kind of lens does macro or landscapes? XD

Do some reading on this site and others:

You can use any lens for landscapes but the usage of wide angle lenses for landscapes is pretty common. Macro lenses are designated as such and have a 1:1 reproduction ratio. Macro lenses can be used for other things though. Lenses can be a bit confusing because there's so many options and there's no right or wrong choice- only what works for you.
Browse the popular photography on dA. A lot of photographers say what type of lens they used for that photo.
Oh and you can pretty much use any Canon lens on any Canon camera... there's also third party lenses by by companies like Tamron. EF and EF-S lenses are usable on Canon DSLRs.

and this macro lens http://www.amazon.com/Canon-EF-S-Macr... again just because of the reviews....
so that would be liiike almost a thousand dollars.
my violin was twice that.
but I had like 10 years of experience when I got it..
and I have little photography experience but I see stuff alllll the time that I neeeed to take a picture of (mainly macro shots but recently this sunrise: http://alternativesecret.deviantart.c... )
soo any recommendations on an unexpensive camera (like $150 or so) that won't randomly break and that has good macro mode and good colors unlike my ipod...
Lenses confused me for the longest time. xP
Annnd for the colors I'd recommend experimenting with white balance (if you can) and editing.
Whatever happened to that one p&s you showed me before?

what's p&s? if that's the panosonic or whatever it was called... it had too many camera-broke-right-away reviews :(
point and shoot camera lulz
oh okay; you're going to see a lot a reviews like that with cheaper cameras. You kinda have to go with your instinct a little bit and pick the least of evils.

it has reviews about dust spots but ... my last camera had those and I just ignored it XD at least this looks better than the one I used to have.

Ah yes, that's a good camera :-) I've used one before

Silver - I think I have a camera from the same line of cameras (though not that exact one) and it's quite good, despite the lack of aperture settings :)
I don't know anything about underwater cameras. You just gotta do some research online I suppose
well I know that some kind of protective casings are sold for cameras to make them waterproof before diving...? I'm not sure whether they're available in regular stores or what.
There's all sorts of underwater housing available on Amazon. Some work better than others though. :-\
I've briefly used a t2i but I don't personally have much experience with either one. I'd recommend going to a store (a more specialized photography store if possible) and just pick them up and look at them and stuff. Read lots of reviews online too. If you have any specific questions I might be able to answer them though. ^_^
Yeah, it's all pretty minor. A lot of times it really just comes down to preference. Wait... are you talking about the t3 or the t3i? Because there's a difference.
Lauren (Flame) wrote: "the t3i looks really nice. What camera do you recommend?"
It depends on what you want really... :-\
Alex de Lioncourt wrote: "The t3. I considered the t3i, but I've only actually seen in person the t3 and t2i."
Okay then neither the t3 or t2i have articulating screens :-)

this is what I use for macro and/or awesome. It's not the best but it was affordable and I'm still using it.

If you want a DSLR (which is the best option for macro) then what's most important is you buy a macro lens. Those can be pretty pricey so perhaps you could go for a cheaper DSLR body and buy a nice macro.

You can also look into extension tubes and macro filters but an actual macro lens usually is the best.
We don't currently have a contest going on but if you want you can make a topic for your art. :-)
