St. Peter's Asylum discussion

Allowing her chin to rest comfortably-even enjoying the contact- in Racen's warm grasp, studying his face. His lips were ever so slightly pulled up into some kind of facial expression that could go for anger or amusement or even to refrain from crying. She only knew because he had told her, and that was the only reason. "No. Only because you told me so."

"Precisely." Now he allowed himself to smile. "And that's what control is. Keeping your expression neutral so that no one can tell what you're feeling. You, Rosie, are very bad at that."

Rosemarie sighed, leaning her head against Raven's hand. "Well I seem to be bad at everything this little game requires."

"That's why I want to teach you; but I did say it wouldn't work very well between us anymore. We've broken that wall, Rosie."

She chuckled with amusement filling in her features then struggled to keep her face emotionless like marble with little success. "We've broken a lot if walls recently, haven't we?"

"Yes. Yes we have." Raven let out a little laugh. "That said, I'm going to assign you your first task as my new pupil: go find us someone vulnerable."

"Oh, gods I don't have to start calling you professor, do I? Because that would be wrong on so many levels." Then she slipped out of Raven's gentle grasp to lean her head against the trunk of the tree. "And how exactly would you like me to do that? I don't have to sort through files, do I?"

Raven rolled his eyes. Sometimes Rosemarie seemed to have trouble seeing the meaning behind his words. "No, just use your head," he told her. "There are always people wandering around this place. All you have to do is find someone who looks like they have a lot of chinks in the armor and direct me to them. That's when I show you lesson one."

Find someone with a lot of chinks in their armour? How the Hades would she be able to figure something like that out by looking at a person. "All right, then. I'll try."

[I'm thinking Margot or Peter.]

((The two are insecure?))

Raven smiled. "Good. I'll be waiting, you come tell me when you've got someone pointed out. Chances are I'll know who you're talking about."

[Peter is highly insecure about his own homophobia and Margot is ignorant to the fact that Dolly isn't real. Telling her otherwise would no end well.]

"Ah, yes. It pays off to be a big know-it-all, doesn't it?" The small smile and playful twinkle in her eyes told the sadist she was merely teasing.

"Why yes, yes it does." Raven laughed at the tease and shook his head. A few kisses, some kind words, and Rosemarie was already opening up wider than she ever had.

A small pout of mock heartbreak formed on her cherub lips. "Aww, what a shame, hon. You think you actually are a big know-it-all!"

"But I am," Raven said with a chuckle. "Or are you just sad that I'm demeaning myself?"

"What I'm saying is files aren't the whole person. You don't know a person or everything about them by reading their file, just their background information."

Raven gave her a little smile and shrugged. "Eh, true enough. But history isn't the only thing that's in the files, you know. They have everything in there."

"Reall?" Rossmarie raised an inquisitive eyebrow. "And so you're mentioned several times in my file?"

Raven shrugged and shook his head. "Nah. Nobody's ever seen us together, remember? As far as the staff knows, we don't know each other's names."

Rosemarie gestured towards him. "See my point? The files don't have everything."

Again Raven shrugged. "My point was that they have everything important," he said. "I can figure out most people just by reading their file, you know. It doesn't have to have everything in the strict sense of the word."

"I should really be offended by that," Rosemarie commented with a shake of the head. "Well, yes, but there might be some important things that aren't on the file. What exactly's on them anyhow?"

Raven looked thoughtful a moment, counting things off on his fingers. "Name, age, appearance, personality, history, security status, obsessions and stuff. The works. Why?"

"Wow. That's really a lot." Rosemarie let her eyes widen in surprise. "How do they get our personalities down? We're hardly ever aroun them."

"I dunno," Raven said with a shrug. "Mostly it's just bullet points, so I have a feeling they either ask people who knew us outside the walls or talk to some of the other patients and get information from them."

"That's so wrong," she complained with a shudder. "It's like, such an invasion of privacy. Not that we really have much here, but still."

"Well, what did you expect? Technically it's necessary--at least, that's what they'll tell you--because we're all supposed to be dangerous psychopaths."

"Darling, they only tell you that because you are a dangerous psychopath." She reached out and lightly smacked his cheek. "Come on, get your head on straight."

Raven pretended to look outraged. "I am not!" he protested. "I'm an angst-ridden teenager who can't confront his own inner demons and takes it out verbally on other people instead."

Rosemarie stared at him for a moment with a completely straight face. When that broke five seconds later, she was laughing against the tree trunk, gasping for air when she was finally finished. "Oh, gods. And who told you that complete pile if horse shit? Don't tell me you made it up by yourself?"

Raven grinned and shook his head. "Nah," he said. "I'm just quoting one of the guys from town. He was calling me strange, so I asked him what kind of strange and he said that. I thought it was funny so I remembered it, I guess."

"Yeah it was quite hilarious. Sounds like something the psych would tell you."

"No. Just a friend." Raven shrugged, but there was a set to his features that said he didn't want to talk about it anymore. It was fairly easy talking about his life before Anna died, but the time after was a subject he didn't like to discuss. Not even Rosemarie could afford that type of story yet.

She was just about to ask for more information when she glanced in the boy's direction and changed her mind. She was gettin used to reading he boy's face Whn he actually let some emotion how. She was accustomed to this one, and knew it was time to keep quiet.

Raven clapped his hands once, just to get her attention off his face and back to business. "All right, so let's wrap this up. You want to learn how to play the game, you find me a demonstration. You can do that?"

"Of course I can do that. It can't be all that difficult, I'm sure." Rosemarie lifted herself up off the ground and on her feet. "So I find you a demonstration spin can learn to play your game."

"Then I think we're done here." Raven stood too shot the girl a smile. "Can I kiss you goodbye or are we not there yet?" he asked, teasing again--but only slightly.

Rosemarie struggled to refrain herself from rolling her eyes. A nice as it was for Raven to actually ask for someone's permission, it seemed like a pointless question. In answer she simply leaned forward and kissed the boy on the lips.

He pulled away laughing. "All right, now I know. Anyway, when you find us a victim, give me a call. I'll be looking forward to it." Raven smiled, waved and then turned, walking off towards the entrance and leaving Rosemarie with her thoughts.

At first the redheaded girl just stood there, staring at the retreating figure of the sadist. Then she smiled and shook her head. Looking forward to a call from her? What had she done to Raven? Not bothering to think about it, Rosemarie walked back towards the dorms to tell Dinah the prophecy had been completed. Almost completed, anyways.

[Fade.]

There was hardly anything indoors that caught her attention, and even less outside. But she was told to take a break, and Tessa decided that a walk would be the best thing for her to relax. She had a headache from earlier (she was told that she'd began to bang her head against the wall and it took several tries for them to restrain her) and the pain relievers had yet to kick in.

Someone's whistling pulled her out of her reverie and she blinked. She seemed to have walked climbed the hill.

"Sorry... I didn't mean to intrude," Tessa said. She had seen how temperamental some of the patients got, despite how calm they seemed. This girl seemed no different, what with a strange staff in her hand.

"No... I came here a few weeks ago." Tessa shifted her weight, feeling a bit awkward. She hadn't spoken to too many people aside from the nurses and her therapists. "Um, that's interesting."

"Oh, wow. Is that how long people usually stay?" Tessa asked. She could hardly stand staying there for a few weeks, let alone two years.

"Oh... I'm Tessa, by the way," she said. The idea of being there for nearly a decade scared her a bit. Hopefully she'd get better. She didn't want to stay there for that long.

Tessa hesitated. Her diagnosis made her, as well as many others, uncomfortable. But she had never been one to lie.

"Um... MPD."

"Yeah." She shifted uncomfortably. She didn't want to ask why Adeola was there, and yet curiosity nagged at her.

"Oh. I haven't talked to too many people," Tessa admitted, shrugging. Or at least, she hadn't. She didn't know what when on during the day when she slipped away.

Lena lounged against the trunk of the Peach Tree, her fingers pressing down on the pages of a book so as not to lose her spot, for it was rather windy out today and the wind had the nasty habit of twirling through Lena's books without her consent. She was in a better mood today, explaining the lack of a deep scowl upon her face. She brushed away a strand of breeze blown hair, tapping her boots on the grass to no particular beat.
