Raven shot her a genuine smile. "Most do," he chuckled. A pause, then, "so what landed you here?"

She shifted a little. Most people were doubtful of her dolls' capabilities; most didn't believe her story.

"I make voodoo dolls," she said simply, accompanied by a sickeningly sweet smile. "And I stab them with pins."

"Voodoo dolls, huh?" Well, that was interesting. He hadn't heard of that before. "Hey, it wasn't you who made me fall out of the tree, was it?" Raven demanded with mock severity. "Because if the answer is yes, I'm going to have to hit you."

Bennett smirked. "Oh yes, of course. My fault entirely."

Raven glared at her for a moment before lunging forward and slapping Bennett lightly across the face. "How dare you," he snarled, pulling back. His eyes sparkled teasingly despite his tone of voice. "I was almost to the top! Jerk."

"That's exactly what I do. Make the dolls just to screw with your life," Bennett crowed, a mocking smile in place.

"You don't even know me!" Raven exclaimed. "What have I ever done to you? All I wanted was to climb to the top of a freaking peach tree, but I can't even be allowed to do that." He snorted and rolled his eyes at her. "You're cruel, Bennett."

"Exactly!" Raven chuckled. "That's called 'playing along'. Or maybe it was bonding time." A shrug. "Who cares? Point is, I'm not stupid. I know you didn't make me fall."

"I couldn't hate you forever," Raven admitted, almost bashfully. "I've smiled at you. Which means now if I ever have any negative thoughts towards anybody named Bennett I'm going to feel guilty. Smiles are like prison cells. The trap you in feelings of...goodness." He laughed then. "Forgive me, that was so lame."

[oh, Clara?]

Light footsteps and a face pulled into a grimace announced the arrival of Claramae. Ginger tresses blew in the wind, the short copper locks falling in front of her bronze gaze. She was dressed to impress, in short-shorts, a camisole and a too-large plaid shirt, unbuttoned. In her hands, she held a mug of chocolate, and dainty feet were decorated with warm, striped socks.

A timid smile was offered to the girl, as her skittish gaze danced over the writing.

Clara took a seat, back pressed up against the gate that circled the peach tree. She took a sip from the warm mug in her hands and ran a hand through her hair.

Bronze eyes wreathed in copper scanned the letters along Moira with interest, squinting when she couldn't figure out what language they were in.

It took Clara a few moments to notice that Moira was talking to her. With a slight jump, followed by a small smile, she spoke.

"Who?"

Annie | 7968 comments Mod
Obviously one of the crazier patients, thought Clara, who had had her share of encounters with them.

Taking a different approach, the timid girl placed a ginger hand on Moira's knee and whispered, "What can you do to free them?"

An arch of Clara's pale eyebrow, and she repeated her question. She wasn't uncomfortable, but uncertain of the question's answers.

Light warm breezes swirled gently around the peach tree that ever so famous for the patients here at St. Peter's. It was always a sense of freedom, but for Rosemarie, it wasn't enough. She wanted to be free to go where she pleased, to not be imprisoned by doctors in fancy, spotless white coats. But murder can stain many things.

In an attempt to get as close to freedom as possible, Rosemarie had climbed amongst the branches of the blooming tree. Earlier she had taken the blossoms and braided some into her copper locks, the sweet scent enveloping her. Cherub lips were twisted into a small pout, eyes closed in what looks to be a peaceful expression. But behind those closed eyes, something not so peaceful was spurring around. Fantasies and memories of a bow, a boy, and white hot fury were mashing together and creating a disturbing scene.

Across the yard Rowan ran, at a dead run towards the tree. Her teeth stabbed her bottom lip to contain her desperate screams, blue-green eyes flashing with wild desire. Freedom! Freedom at last! She had to get away from that prison of brick and metal and memories. Even this sorry excuse for a tree, so rapidly drawing near, offered some form of relief. She desperately, desperately needed that relief. Reaching the base of the tree, Rowan threw herself down on her knees amid the roots, tossed her head back, and howled at the empty air. Here, finally, she was going to use an outlet for the chaotic mix of emotions inside her.

Startled by the hellish scream from the below, the priestess called out a yelp of her own. He almost fell out of her tree, but was lucky or her fast reflexes as well as the bow she had caught to an overhead branch before her slumber. When she awoke, she was not in a pleasant mood.

"What in the Hades is going on down there?" Was the booming growl that came from the top of the tree. Her hand groped do her back, which is where her arrows would have been except for the fact that authorities had taken the arrows long ago when she arrived. Our of habit, Rosemarie would tend to grope for he arrows in times of anger only to be disappointed with their absence.

((What in the Hades? XD))

Rowan stayed quiet, hands on the tree trunk, her head between them, forehead touching the wood as she panted. She'd heard the question but didn't exactly know how to answer, so she just stayed where she was, perfectly still like the tree itself.

[ Lol well she's a follower of Artemis, why not? XD]

An exasperated sigh escaped pink cherub lips. Just her luck, there was a mute patient beneath her, yet it could still scream. Using her nimble fingers to slide the bow off of the branch without much noise, Rosemarie was free to stand on the branch that didn't seem as steady as when she had been sitting down. This didn't faze the Huntress as she let herself fall from the branch and land next to- but almost on top of- the mute patient with a soft landing.

((It? She is not an it!))

Rowan flinched when she heard the huntress jump, then look over at her, blue-green irises lit with curiosity. She offered a small, pained smile as a greeting, taking notice of Troy as he appeared behind the girl with the bow.

[Sorry, Rosemarie isn't exactly the most sympathetic patient I have lol.]

The smile was not returned. A gentle tip of the head and Rose jutted out her narrow chin and that was all. Her face stayed still as stone, never changing from her cold and calculating Huntress face. Her cool bluish gray eyes flicked over the screamer that had awoken her, upper lip twitching ever do slightly with her expressive annoyance.

"I understand that you're obviously a patient here and you must have your own problems, but if you continue to scream and awake people in such a rude manner, I'll give you one more problem to deal with." Her voice carried no emotion, but was rather cold and the way she spoke slowly made it seem as though English were a new language to her. In reality, it was talking to people that was now a foreign thing to her. That's what happens when you're placed in a place like St. Peter's.

((LOL))

Threats. Troy didn't like them. The ghost moved to hit the girl, and Rowan snarled. "Troy!" she barked, eyes flashing, "get OUT!" The boy gave her a surprised look and vanished then, much to her relief. "Don't need any more problems," Rowan muttered, now speaking to Rosemarie. "It's hard enough just surviving."

Rosemarie's hand tightened around her bow at the young girl's outburst. Oh how she wanted her arrows, just to hear the successful twang, whoosh of the arrow being released from the bow and the soft thud declaring that the huntress had once again hit her mark. But she didn't have her precious arrows, and the only protection she had now was her sharp rogue and her maiden. If her lady could even protect her here.

"And what could you possibly know about survival?" A scoff, now there was some emotion at last. Rosemarie doubted that this girl had even been in a tent before, let alone lived in the woods to best support her goddess. She knew nothing about survival or the power to take away someone's ability to survive.

[Lmao SORRY! I like this character.]

"What are you in for, anyways? The inability to assume things abou a person woul be my first guess. But an annoying disruption to the peace woul have to come as a close second." The grip on the bow didn't loosen, and the smooth wood was beginning to dampen with Rosemarie's sweat. She could just imagine raising the prized weapon, and shooting the delusional girl right between her curious eyes. And the thought excited her greatly.

"What's it to you?" Rowan demanded, starting to get frustrated. This arrogant stranger was beginning to get on her nerves. "You look just about ready to kill me anyway. Is that what you're in for?" she added, a little nastily. "Murder? I wouldn't exactly be surprised."

[Hmmm, good point.]

How more naive could this girl get? Rosemarie rolled her eyes, her jaw clenching just slightly, creating a light bump on her face, as I'd she had stuffed a small jawbreaker into her lower cheek. "Embarassment couldn't be further from the truth."

"Why do you need to know?" The huntress countered with another slight lip twitch. The patient gained no interest from Rosemarie, she was actually beginning to annoy her with her disruptions of sleep and now constant questions. When would the annoyance end?
