Ha ha! The only minus point is you keep on reading and nothing gets finished. I have only recently developed this habit of reading so many books at once because I feel restless and itchy to start this book and that. I guess having a huge TBR gets on my nerves at times. I want to read them all. ;)

message 163: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4039 comments Kat wrote: "I'm confused reading THREE at a time. How do you keep all the books, characters, plots straight?!"

It's an advantage you get after mugging up all the textbooks. Remembering fiction seems like bliss when compared to remembering for an exam. ;)

message 164: by Robin (Saturndoo) (new)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) LOL I really don't have 45 going lol that was an exaggeration...I probably have 15-20 : )

I don't know Kat, I just do. They are all different so it is fairly easy. When I put one down and then pick it back up later to read it just all comes back to me. There's something different going on in each book I guess lol Heck I don't know lolololol

I eventually get them read lol it seems I finally reach a point in each that keeps me turning its pages until I am done. But until then, I start another and another cause I am anxious to read them all.

message 165: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59964 comments I tell my friends that they watch a tv program for an hour then watch something else. They pick up the plot a week later right where the program ended the week before. If they can do that, they'd have no trouble having several books on the go at the same time.

I don't like to have more than 3 going at the same time. It's great when I finish all the books around the same time. Hehehe!

message 166: by Autumn (new)

Autumn (paperrdolls) | 122 comments I tend to read 2 books at once one physical book and one kindle.. and I'm pretty good at not getting confused.. I do sometimes get confused reading one book sometimes I have to write a cast list.. that's what I call it with the persons name and little nuggets of background info.. so I think it doesn't matter how many books I'm reading I'm going to end up confused..

I like how you call it a cast list :) I write one for most books, but that's more for my reviews than keeping track. However it proved very useful when I was reading Battle Royale which stars with 42 (!) characters....

message 168: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly | 2033 comments 42 Characters?!

Yep, with Japanese names which made it even harder!

Now that must have been a hard read.

message 172: by Kat (new)

Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments To be honest, the way that it's written doesn't make it that difficult to keep track of the characters, they're all quite well "looped-back" in each scene they appear (without a whole recap being necessary).

And the book has a cast list on the inside cover for reference!

message 173: by Karendenice (new)

Karendenice I have way too many to list but right now I'm really enjoying Major Pettigrew's Last Stand.

Autumn (paperrdolls) | 122 comments so i was feeling a little wild today and went to the library and picked up The Magician King by Lev Grossman and The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms (The Inheritance Trilogy, #1) by N.K. Jemisin :D

message 177: by Mintymedley (new)

Mintymedley | 60 comments I went to the library today to pick up a copy of March by Geraldine Brooks . I've been wanting to read this one for a while.
While I was there I stumbled upon a delightful children's novel Toys Go Out Being the Adventures of a Knowledgeable Stingray, a Toughy Little Buffalo, and Someone Called Plastic by Emily Jenkins . I can't wait to read it to my niece.
The last one I found was a major find (at least for me). I own a copy of Holly Claus The Christmas Princess by Brittney Ryan that I read every Christmas. It is a wonderful new imagining with amazing paintings. I have just loved it for the last 5 years. So... while browsing at the library, I found out that there is much more to the story The Legend of Holly Claus by Brittney Ryan I believe this one will work nicely for Globetrotting.

Geraldine Brooks's novels are wonderful. I have read March, Year of Wonders, People of the Book & am about to read Caleb's Crossing with my offline book club. Caleb's Crossing should also do nicely for Globetrotting.

message 179: by Mintymedley (new)

Mintymedley | 60 comments I just stalled out on People of the Book. I was really wanting March when I picked it up. I was really hooked through the first chapter but lost me around page 50. I think I will pick it up later when I don't have so many exciting things to read. :D
I will look into Caleb's Crossing, Thanks!

Queen Hereafter A Novel of Margaret of Scotland by Susan Fraser King

Shannon (sianin) | 453 comments Girl With a Pearl Earring and Czar's Madman. The first for my in person book club since so many of us did not get around to reading it years ago but had it on our TBR list and the other as an around the world book read and we are in Estonia. I knew I would have to get it through interlibrary loan and made a gamble that I would pick the book that got voted upon and I think I am wrong but am reading it anyway! lol

I read the Locke and Key series by Joe Hill last year and loved them. I think I need to read the newest one though. The artwork in them is amazing. The colourist did a great job as well.

Wow! That was a haul. The only thing I've read of Joe Hill's was Heart-Shaped Box. I enjoyed it and would read more of his books.
