Looks good. Have heard great things about Forbidden.

Judy, did you ever finish it? My god I am struggling but feel like I should put the effort in for my club but so far I don't care about these people, I am confused about who is who, and when is when, and could easily put it down and walk away and never think about it again! I think back to the first book about slavery that I ever read (back in junior high) and I was gripped through all 700 pages and I believe read it in a weekend (Roots: The Saga of an American Family) and wonder why this one is taking me longer and is so much shorter.
Sorry for the rant. Apparently I had to get it off my chest!

I had to read it twice, once for my book club and once for a class I was taking. It was much better the second time around, that makes you feel any better.

You have my sympathies Susan, unless you were one of the many that seemed to "get it" and like it. Then more power to you. lol.

So today I got

Now just to find the time to read all of them.

I think so too. I was shocked at the site of students studying there. I mean how can you, with all those amazing books around? Some dedication, huh! :)
I have been a bad student. ;)

I've heard nothing but good things about that book, I hope you like it.

So today I got

[book:Cutting for Stone|3591262] is my next read and I am looking forward to it. May start it tomorrow as I inch towards putting down my current book.

I'm loving this book! The popular sister has died and the one left behind is miserable (and obsessed with sex.) It's starting out so funny and serious at the same time.

lol I havent read it yet... *spoiler Alert* would have been helpful :)

So today I got [bookcover:The Japanese Wife|28..."
I am terrified by the length of this one. :)

You have to read Looking for Alaska. I loved it!!

Sorry but this is the first chapter of the book.

If I didn't have the library growing up I probably would have turned out a lot different. Like Autumn ssid they're a safe haven for people. We're pretty much the most multicultral citie in the country and with 5 million plus residents we need the libraries.

I'm with you Susan! You made me laugh out loud.

Loved it! Can't wait to see what you have to..."
Well, I am still plugging away on the Known World. Who knew such a short book could take so long. But looking forward to
Cutting for Stone. I took some medical anthropology courses and have several doctor friends so hopefully that will be enough to get me through the jargon. Will let you know once I have started it.

I should read Froer's book. I do love long books.

I've always loved libraries. When my first son was a toddler, I didn't have a car and the library was within walking distance so we'd leave in the morning and sit in a corner of the children's section and I'd read book after book to him. Loved that.

Those look really nice, Robin. Which one are you starting first?

I saw it first time on your blog and when I saw it in the library, I couldn't resist. I have started reading and it is looking good so far.
