Kimberly | 2033 comments I went to the library today (finally) and got these holds:
Battle Royale by Koushun Takami and The Girl in the Steel Corset (Steampunk Chronicles, #1) by Kady Cross
and I grabbed these from the "Best Bets" shelf which are one week loans:
Smokin' Seventeen by Janet Evanovich and Explosive Eighteen (Stephanie Plum, #18) by Janet Evanovich

Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments Oh Battle Royale! When you get to it, write yourself a character list - it really helped me keep track of who is who (and how they kicked the bucket!). Even though it's a doorstop, I read it really quickly - it was a 'just one more chapter' book for me!

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) Awesome Pragya!!! Maybe someday I will get to it if I can find where it is on my dusty bookshelves lol

Kimberly | 2033 comments I picked up these holds today:

Me & Emma by Elizabeth Flock Dance of the Tiger A Novel of the Ice Age by Björn Kurtén The Everafter by Amy Huntley Cleopatra's Moon by Vicky Alvear Shecter Rampant (Killer Unicorns, #1) by Diana Peterfreund When the Sea is Rising Red by Cat Hellisen and Magic Burns (Kate Daniels, #2) by Ilona Andrews which I'm going to give a try. The book makes for a good relaxed reading. I didn't like it as much as I loved other books by Nicholas Sparks. Hope you find it someday when you are in the mood for it.

Well, it's hard to say that I really liked it. I listened to it on audiotape and almost turned it off after the first few chapters. But I'm nearing the end now and can't stop - kind of like a train wreck.

Nope...[book:Me & Emma|80534] Me & Emma by Elizabeth Flock not a big fan of this book : ( It's ok but not one that I would highly recommend to anyone. I am having a really hard time getting through it as it is soooooooooo slow, dull and boring. It will probably end up with 2.5 or maybe 3 stars.

Uh oh, will wait for your review before deciding whether it needs to leave my huge TBR.

message 371: by Robin (Saturndoo) (new)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) Pragya I wouldn't recommend it. It has taken me almost a month to read this book and I am still not done with it. There are various points where you think it is going to pick up and then it nose dives. I can only read a few pages at a time and then I have to pick up something else that will hold my attention. When my mind wanders in a book I know it is time to move on. I am forcing myself to read it :(

This is a post I made in another group:

Hi. My name is jaxnsmom, and I am an addict.

I read/listen just about anywhere. I walk out of a library chastising myself, because there's no way I can read those 10 books and listen to the 10 audiobooks in two weeks, and I KNOW this, so why do I keep doing it??? And I've still got 15 books on my mp3 player, oops, make that 21, I downloaded 6 more today, and those 51 books on the dining room table that I bought last year and swear I'm going to read this year...pressure...not at all. HaHa! And I'm returning audios to another library tomorrow, and I'm almost afraid to think of what might happen...

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments I returned 5 books today - at the drive thru. I'm not allowed to go in a library until I make a dent in the 16 items I still have out :( It was hard, and I might have been shaking as I drove away (withdrawal pains?), but I made it one more day. It's really hard seeing all these wonderful books here. I just want to go to my library's website and put some books on hold :D
