What books are you excited about for 2012?

I have the Immortals After Dark series, but haven't read them yet.

I've never read Ann Rice, either. I've been hearing a lot about her lately, though. What are her books like?

I really like the Immortals After Dark series...I think they get better as the series progresses (not saying the early books aren't good-I liked them too!)

Anne Rice is amazing in my opinion! The story's are usually told from the point of view of one of the vampires. She's a very descriptive writer. A lot of people dislike the later books, I read the series out of order and enjoyed them all. Some, of course, are better than others but that's the case with any series--hope that was helpful :-D

I just bought Wither two days ago! Everyone has been telling me to read it, so I decided to get it.

I just recently read Anna Dressed in Blood, it was so good!

I can't wait for , I really loved this book and want to actually buy a hard copy of it.

Rapture by J.R. Ward, 4th in the Fallen Angels series

No cover yet, but I'll add it as soon as it has one.

I really want to read Divergent, Starcrossed, and Wither...I'm sure once I read those I'll be excited for their "sequels"

Sheri, I've only read Covet, I wasn't a huge fan. Do the book get better in your opinion?

@Tammy - I think they get better. The third book, Envy, was my favorite so far.

The Two Books I am excited about for 2012 are the sequels to my first two books which I am feverishly writing. I am praying I can finish both, re-write them both, and edit the ever loving heck out of them to have them both published sometime in 2012.
That's the plan. But it is a viewpoint of this thread from a different perspective.
I am always anticipating the next best seller from my favorite authors also - I still read but it is truely a luxury now that I am an author. OMG the work, editing, reading, writing and re-writing, you wouldn't believe what it takes to make one really good book. You really woundn't believe it. Writers must truly love what they are doing or they wouldn't do it!

I'm sure there are others I'm looking forward to, but the one that comes to mind first is I absolutely cannot wait to read this!

When is the sequel to Daughter of Smoke and Bone come out?

Also I hate the redesign of the Blood Red Road books and also the cover for the sequel. The original Blood Red Road edition that I have did not have DUST LANDS at all in the title and I dislike that to. The original cover was what made me pick up the book in the first place and it went perfectly with the story. I am not happy about it obviously but what do you guys think? (if I knew how I would post put the picture of the original cover. If anyone wants to enlighten me I would be grateful. )

I liked the second half of that book a lot. I felt like half way through the author finally figured out what she actually wanted to write about. I really enjoyed the second half and the end was such a cliff hanger. I'm glad its coming out this year *is excited*

I must say I use to get more excited about books that would be released soon. Not so much anymore. I use to not be able to stand it. Now I don't care as much. I do want to read when it comes out, but I can wait. And it will probably be a few months after it comes out.
