Each morning, he would get up before the sun and walk through the forest, collecting her a bouquet of the most beautiful flowers he could find, just to see the smile on her face.
First step in the plan was to seek advice from his friends - bad idea. He done this quietly and fast. The advice they gave him was not what he sought. It would cost him everything- forcing him to walk through the Underhand and dark path in which was so foreign to himself.
But he knew they were right. Even if it was not what he wanted to do. She was worth it.
The next day he changed into his finest clothes, so basically a clean black t-shirt and jeans. Along the way he found a flower patch and bent to pick a bouquet. Gabby will love these, he thought to himself as he added a few more roses and violets to the patch. But, as he was applying his finishing touches he noticed a wild storm approaching from the east.
"They said this would happen," said the gnome as he tucked in his shirt and tightened up his belt. He'd have to ride this storm out until it pulled him into the darkness. For the key to her heart resided there, somewhere in the Underhand - the place where no gnome dared go.
