To continue the talk from the other thread, Anna and Etienne comes up at Chapter 3 for me. (I'm reading ebook, though and not sure if it differs from the book)

I like the comments Lola makes about her two Dads. A snippet:
Andy is always the first to soften in difficult situations.
Which, by the way, doesn’t make him “the woman.” Nothing annoys me more than someone assuming one of my dads is lessthan-dad.....
So neither is “the woman.” They’re both gay men. Duh.
Besides, it’s not like all women fit into those stereotypes either

I turn to Lindsey. “What just happened?”
“Your father invited the former love of you..."
i agree with you on Perkins having a very good teenage POV, still i liked Anna better until now. I related a lot more with her emotions and the way she put her mind out there in the first book then here in Lola's. maybe it is because Lola is more quirky, she likes being different which is mostly not like me ;) i am just hesitant being all that different thing might end up like forced.
so far i am liking the way the story has been told though i agree that there should have been something more that just out right rejection in her behaviour :) but then at that age what is more important than the cool boy you think you love :)

i liked them both, i like the points you mentioned but for the same reasons i vot troubled to like lola in the beginning. in real life i never react to not normal people but that is in thebook or a movie i like my characters from reallife but with her abnormalities she was still very realistic so i turned out to like her eventually.
