Hollie So there seems to have been a 3 way tie with the January book voting poll. What do you all want to do with this? Shall we have three groups reading the different books? Should we have another vote between them to see which comes out on top? Or do you have some other suggestion as to what we can do?

Personally I think it would be fun if we could have all 3 books :) Some of us (not usually me!) are fast readers and could maybe read a couple of them. Even if there's only 4 or 5 of us reading each one, it would still be nice to have threads on them all.

I agree with Ness. It might be worth a try. It is the holiday season so some people will have more time and we could start the threads early. Only thing is we also have Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie so that will be 4 books. There seem to be quite a lot of people reading along each month but only a few joining in with the discussions.

Having a tie-breaker vote didn't really work last time, but I suppose we could try it again. Four books seems like too many, really, especially since people aren't contributing to the discussions as it is. Everyone should be able to read something the enjoy, though, so perhaps something like this month would work best? The top two from a tie-breaker, and Stories on the side?

I'm happy to read all 4, and there might be some people who just pick 1 or 2 to read but that just means the discussion threads will be even quieter than normal.

Hollie Having all the books seems fine to me. It may be worth then having a discussion leader for each book.

If you look in the polls section, it'll show you the books and their votes x

Kerry Bridges | 121 comments Florence and Giles by John Harding is 99p on Kindle.

Yes I noticed that too Kerry, I won't be reading this one as I don't have a kindle. I voted for The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón so I'll read that instead. :)

Kerry Bridges | 121 comments You can use the kindle app, even if you don't have a kindle Sam. Do you have a smartphone or iPod?

I have a Blackberry any good?

Kerry Bridges | 121 comments Hmm, it says only US at the moment, which suggests UK sometime, but not yet :-(

Ahh well, maybe I will find a cheaper copy of the book so far it's around £5 :(

My lovely copy arrived today from Amazon (got the one with the spooky girl on the front) ... haven't bought a 'new' paperback for a while, did have to pay £5+ though which is becoming more than I like to.

Think I am going to pass on it Kirsty and do Raw shark texts and The shadow of the wind.

Is it one you might want to swap for something?

Oh no, don't say sorry! I just thought I'd ask, I will go see if they have it in the library as I have overspent with Christmas/sales shopping etc!

Jo can you do me a favour and assign discussion leaders for January's books? I don't seem to be able to find the time
