Later in life when more mature, more spiritually centered. Could not have adapted to living in different culture, country, continent until late thirties. More open to differences in way of thinking, differing world view, etc. As it was, living in the third world was a life changing experience.

Eternal youth. I know what the other is like, give me a chance at the unknown.

Bubble bath with a toad. They seem much more congenial.

Politely decline but not say why. It might ruin the meal for others and as the guest I would not want to spoil the dinner. The animal was already dead. I might call them the next day and explain, but I think in this day and age people are accepting of vegetarians.
