Autumn (agentsofromance) *Waves* I'm Autumn. If it has a vampire, witch or a werewolf, I'll read it! So glad OBS has a group now... ;)

*waves back* Heyaz Autumn! I am a fan of vampires but I have grown a bit tired of them as of late due to how many books have come out about them and they all seem to follow each other so much (just my humble opinion). But I love anything with a really twisted and intricate plotline and angels, preferably, hot guy angels! LOL

Me too!! OBS needed it's own group and I figured this was a better way to interact with fans =)

YES!! I like vampires I'm just tired of them all following the same type of plotline. I love when plots are twisted up and you don't fully know what's going to happen next! I like trying to guess what's going to happen next and being proven wrong lol.

Gladys Quintal | 6 comments I have tried really hard to do that with mine. I didn't want it to be same old same old if you know what I mean? I will check out the review section and see if anyone is interested in reviewing them. The second one is still being edited but a few people who have really helped me with the first book have had sneak previews and I have a couple of reviews already:)

Awesome!! Thank you for considering OBS to read and review your novel!! We LOVE books at OBS and are always happy to find new authors to work with and new books to devour *hehe*

It's good you paid attention and took time to make yours different. Congrats on both your books! I am sure you will be successful =)

Debra Anastasia (debraanastasia) | 2 comments Hi! I'm Debra and I read anything with words in it. Just a story that grabs you immediately. I hate wading through 200 some odd pages to fall in love with something. Currently reading Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning and loving it.

OpenBookSociety.com (openbooksociety) | 116 comments Mod
Hey Debra! Glad to have you, especially since you are a fellow author =) Me too! I hate having to read the majority of a book to find something I like or connect with when that should happen at the beginning and intensify as I go on reading.

Debra Anastasia (debraanastasia) | 2 comments Hey Annabelle! Thanks for the welcome. I've been trying to get into The Girl with the Dragon tattoo and that slow beginning is killing me. Maybe I'll try audio book.

OpenBookSociety.com (openbooksociety) | 116 comments Mod
I heard that book is supposed to be really good but I haven't felt enough interest to really give the book a chance *shrugs* I hate really slow beginnings! I don't mind if maybe the first chapter is slow going but it should pick up pace after that *just my humble opinion* hehe

J. Bralick (jleighbralick) | 2 comments Hello everyone! I'm J. Leigh...I joined a little while back but things got so crazy with Christmas and everything I forgot to say hi! O.o

Anyway, I'm excited to be here! Looking forward to meeting everyone and discovering some great new reads! I've got a couple books out myself, but I'll take those mentions over to the self-promo thread. :-)

OpenBookSociety.com (openbooksociety) | 116 comments Mod
Heyaz J. Leigh! Nice to have you! Welcome!! And I totally understand about Christmas, things get VERY hectic! Explore the group and have fun and thank you for stopping by!

That's really great about having books out, if they fall into the genres OBS reads and reviews, you can pitch them via Requests for OBS and I'll pitch it to the staff at OBS =)

message 37: by Heather (new)

Heather (romanceisglamour) | 8 comments Hello, I'm Heather! I've grown fond of reading in generally within the past 2 years or so. The first series that got me into reading was the Anita Blake books by Laurell K. Hamilton. I've recently taken a break while reading "Bullet" due to boredom. Although, I do miss reading about Jean Claude and Asher <3 I'm looking for something new to read - something easy to read, attention getting, with deep romance, mystery, and paranormal action.

OpenBookSociety.com (openbooksociety) | 116 comments Mod
Welcome to the group, Heather!!

Have you tried any of the typical vamp books, Sookie Stackhouse, Night Huntress, or if you want some smut with your vamps The Black Dagger Brotherhood?

message 39: by Heather (new)

Heather (romanceisglamour) | 8 comments Haven't heard of Sookie or Night books but I started the Black Dagger and couldn't really get into it. I've thought about picking it up again to see if it sparks an interest.

OpenBookSociety.com (openbooksociety) | 116 comments Mod
Sookie Stackhouse is the series that True Blood is based off of....but it's a very loose interpretation....they have gotten so far away from the books that it's not even funny!!

I've only gotten a chance to read the first Night Huntress book so far, but I loved it!!

Hi~! I am L'Poni and I enjoy writing short stories (mostly about dragons). I joined because I wanted the OpenBook Society to review my collection of short stories (and I wanted to talk about my space dragons). I can't read novels but I do enjoy reading flash fiction (it's the BEST). When I write, I like to vary my genres. I have written a short story about a vampire-wolf-dragon hybrid that I think might interest someone here. I hope to have a very merry fun time here~!
