Jenny (jennyc89) I just finished Part 1. Wow, I am really enjoying this novel. I don't know a lot about The Tudors but it's a subject I'm particularly interested it. I had never heard of Jane Grey before. I love that I'm learning about history while reading a great story.

One of my favorite things so far is how Jane reacted to becoming Queen. Honestly I was happily surprised at how strong she was. I was expecting her to do the will of Dudley and her father. I really respected that she did her best to stay true to herself and her country.

Kat reminds me of Sansa from the series A Song of Ice Fire. They're both girls who adore royal life and stick to custom and trusting those in charge even when things start to get suspicious. Sansa eventually realizes that those is power are not always doing what's right. Kat started to think that way in the first part about her father-in-law but her husband quickly stopped her suspicion. I'm hoping that Kat will start to see the truth in part two, and considering what happened at the end of part one I think she will.

Laura | 99 comments I like that comparison to Sansa - I didn't think of that. Kat does seem to be in her own little world. As long as she gets what she wants, it doesn't matter what is going on around her.

Destiny | 51 comments I enjoyed being able to see a point of view from Mary early on. Any book I have read about the grey's always discusses Jane and perhaps Kat but Mary is always left out. I remember reading other books and Kat was always in her own little world because she was the favorite daughter and got what she wanted.

Destiny | 51 comments I always had an instinct that Pembroke was holding back on Henry and Kat. He seemed to be a secret schemer.

S | 3 comments Just finished part I, really enjoying it as well. Though I have a hard time distinguishing the different POVs.
