Hi Judy,

Welcome to the group. A good way to find new books is to check out the group bookshelf (top right sidebar), as well as the discussions in the "Cozy Corner" section, where we talk about what we're all reading. Just start browsing and have fun!

☯Emily Ginder | 58284 comments I enjoy books by Donna Andrews. Her series about Meg Lanslow and her family are hilarious. Cockatiels at Seven (Meg Lanslow, #9) by Donna Andrews

message 9: by Sandra J (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 308 comments I love Meg and her eccentric family, too. Those books are a lot of fun. Curiosity Thrilled the Cat (Magical Cats, #1) by Sofie Kelly and The Quick and the Thread (An Embroidery Mystery, #1) by Amanda Lee are also good new series. One has two books, and the other has three (so far).

Jeannie and Louis Rigod (opalbeach) | 12 comments Judy, I'm not good at the graphics but have you read the "Booktown Mysteries" by Lorna Barrett or the "Victorian Square Mysteries" by Lorraine Bartlett, or "The Lucy Valentine Mysteries" by Heather Webber, or "A Magical Cats Mystery" by Sofie Kelly, or "A Haunted Guesthouse Mystery" by E.J. Copperman, or "A Cat in the Stacks Mystery" by Miranda James, or "Books by the Bay Mysteries" by Ellery Adams, or "Cats in Trouble" mysteries by Leann Sweeney....I know so many and that is a tip of the mountain of TBR in my house. Merry Holidays and lovely to meet you.

Jeannie

message 20: by Karen (new)

Karen | 1 comments I'm a huge fan of anything by M.C. Beaton (her two series with Hamish MacBeth and Agatha Raisin are hilarious, and give a wonderful glimpse of Scottish/British life).
If you want to try something a bit older, the Mrs. Pollifax books by Dorothy Gilman are really fantastic.
And of course, the incomparable Agatha Christie!

Chrystle Fiedler (wwwgoodreadscomchrystle_fiedler) | 18 comments Laura Childs is good (tea shop) and Anne Canadeo (knitting) and so is Diane Mott Davidson (catering). If you are into natural remedies try my new book Death Drops: A Natural Remedies Mystery out Feb. 21. Happy Reading! Chrystle

message 22: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine (saanichlori) | 418 comments I recommend The Cat Who series by Lillian Jackson Braun. I've read almost all of them, and although the earlier ones are the best, they're all easy reads about Jim Qwilleran and his two siamese cats.

I like her Abby Cooper series, except for the last one. I liked the first Ghost Hunter series, but not the others, so have given up that series.

Beth | 616 comments I'm going to recommend a publisher, mine, that puts out a whole slew of excellent cozy mysteries written by a great contingent of authors. You can't go wrong with a Midnight Ink book. They have published a few thrillers, but most of their mysteries are cozies or soft-boiled. Here's a link to the website:
