Anna Marie I'm starting really late, so I picked a few I really want to read anyway! I will do my best to catch up.

1: Month - December - IF I can get my hands on it quick, I don't like reading about Christmas when it's not Christmastime. Lost December

2. Birthstone -Not the typical December Birthstone, but I love turquoise, and it is on some December stone lists. The Turquoise finished 3/11/12

3. Year 1978: What Dreams May Come

4. USA - She has alot of Pennsylvania roots too. Then Came You finished 3/23/12

5. country you'd like to visit. - England: Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell

6. Favorite genre. - Fantasy/Sci fi - Because it’s always “on hold” already at the library, this gives me a reason to buy it - The Hunger Games Finished 12/26/11

7. Anna Elliot, Twilight of Avalon

8. favorite flower - So I worked in a flower shop for over five years and every week you’d hear me say “This is my new favorite flower!” and then “No, THIS is my favorite flower.” Such an impossible thing for me to pick. I love flowers. So in memory of the marigolds that thrived in my garden last summer -
Once Upon a Marigold Finished 1/21/12

9. Oldest TBR - Ender's Game finished 2/23/12

10. I Love mermaids - Undine finisehd 03/15/12

11. memoir or biography of someone you admire. - On Writing Finished 1/19/12

12. issue/cause - When Women Stop Hating Their Bodies: Freeing Yourself from Food and Weight Obsession

Bonus Hobbby - May skip this one

Cheryl (cherylllr) What a wonderful list! Eclectic and interesting.

Anna Marie Thanks! Picking them out to fit the challenge was probably more fun than the reading them part! :)

Janice (jamasc) | 59924 comments I'm December too. I have to agree that deciding on the books is great fun! Then comes the task of reading them. It looks like you've got some great titles to enjoy.

Anna Marie Oh, I thought about applying some recent reads to the challenge, but wasn't sure if that was frowned upon. I'm always overly ambitious this time of year (aka New Year's Resolutions) that I got determined that I could do this. I'm notorious for not finishing things I start, so we'll see...

Judy, I'm curious as to what about Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell is particularly ambitious? All I really know of it is that it is on the lists of must read fantasy and what the Good Read Blurb said.

Janice, Happy Birthday, Fellow Decemberian!

Kimberly | 2033 comments I think that it's the length that makes Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell so ambitious :)

Have you read Anya Seton's books before Anna? I see you've got The Turquoise on your list I'm planning to read that one in the new year :)

message 7: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Stange & Norrell is both long and complex. I read it, but I don't remember it well except for a general feeling of being confused and waiting for mysteries to be cleared up. I'd try it again, as maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind, but my shelves are already totally overflowing!

message 8: by Anna Marie (new)

Anna Marie Kimberly, I was worried it was the length! Uh oh! No, I'm new to Anya Seton, and this challenge is the reason I put it on my TBR. I'll be watching to see what you think of it!

Chelsea, if only I had known that yesterday... That will be my Plan B when I see how long Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell is!

Anya Seton is wonderful! I read Green Darkness by Anya Seton last year by her and was blown away!

Anna Marie 5 to go!

message 13: by Anna Marie (new)

Anna Marie Thanks, Judy! As someone who never finishes most of the things she starts, I really want to do it! :)

Anna Marie Yeah, I'm pretty sure I will switch that out!
