Historical Fictionistas discussion

Getting ready to set my goal for 2012! Last year, I made a list of titles that I wanted to read, or was interested in reading, but I ended up reading so many other things that weren't on that list (as you can tell by viewing my 2011 list). I'm one book shy of making my goal (40), which I'm reading the 40th book right now... I think it's more important for me to just read what captures my attention as opposed to sticking to a specific list. So I think what I'll do is just add each book here after I've read it & post my rating or any comments along with it.

As an added note, here's how I rate my books:

I am very stingy with my stars, especially when it comes to 5-star ratings... And I do wish we could give a half-star to ratings. Some things I've read I gave 3 stars, but in my review I'll comment that "I'd give 3.5 stars if possible"...

5 Stars: For me to give a book 5 stars, I have to absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the book!! And it would have to be something that I would absolutely & most definitely read again and again. This would also be something that I would buy for my own collection.

4 Stars: Would be something that I really enjoyed but not necessarily loved, and possibly read again. Depending on how I feel about it, it might be a book I'd buy, but not always so.

3 Stars: Is something that I liked, probably isn't something that absolutely knocks me over, but was pleasant enough

2 Stars: Disliked, or maybe just "OK", but not necessarily hated and probably won't read again

1 Star: Hated it!! Would never read it again

Ok.... made my goal for 2011, barely!! LOL SOooo ... I'm going to keep my goal the same for 2012, and if I read more, then I'll update my goal & all the better for me!! ;)

So.... 40 books for 2012. As I read them, I'll add a post with the title/cover, the date I finished it, and the rating I gave. Happy Reading everyone!! :)

If you love Austen & her novels, you HAVE to read this!! I couldn't put it down! Wonderful, entertaining, fabulous descriptive writing - LOVED it!!

I've never read anything by Janet Evanovich... this was literally LOL funny!! Definitely putting the next 2 in the series on my to-read list!
