RockStar PH (wildbee) | 5 comments As much as I love a good fantasy/sci-fi series, I am looking for a few stand alone books. Sometimes its nice just to have one book and then the story is all tied up and done with.
Any suggestions?

Greyweather | 231 comments Well you already have Tigana on your to-read list and that's a good one. I've also heard great things about Kay's Under Heaven.

The Broken Sword by Poul Anderson is excellent fantasy in the Norse epic tradition.

Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke is one the very finest pieces of literary fantasy.

The Book of Knights by Yves Meynard is great fantasy if you can find a copy.

Zelazny's Lord of Light is a personal favorite in science fiction.

So is Ken Grimwood's Replay.

Nenangs | 39 comments I saw that you have some books in your "to-read" shelf that I can recommend:

Faerie Tale by Raymond E. Feist
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
Watership Down by Richard Adams

Trike The Forever War by Joe Haldeman.

The Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson.

War for the Oaks by Emma Bull.

Margaret | 428 comments Yes, read Watership Down before the Year of the Rabbit ends in late February (Chinese New Year)! :)
