I just finished William Shakespeare's The Empire Striketh Back and enjoyed it as much as the first book, William Shakespeare's Star Wars: Verily, a New Hope. The story itself is a lot of fun, but the illustrations make it even better :)
I'm listening to The Wise Man's Fear, which is about 43 hours long. I'm almost halfway thru, it's very long but well worth it.

The ship had wild animals on it that were being transported to American Zoos. A Bengal Tiger also survived and made his way to the life boat. My heart is definitely pounding at many parts of this adventure.

I listened to this book when it first came out and was amazed and at times horrified by it. I was working in my garden while listening to it and at one point shouted, "Make it stop, make it stop!!!!" Fortunately I live in a neighborhood where no one can hear me.
It is well worth finishing it. It is fantastic.

Also reading a mystery by James Lee Burke, Light of the World. A cozy this is not as his Dave Robicheaux books are violent and gritty. I love his characters.

Louise Penny is a tough act to follow. If you ever find an author similar to her style, let me know.

I'm listening to
, an emotionally charged telling of one boy's experiences during the civil war in Sudan. Really excellent!

Sallee,
I just completed listening to the BOCD of LOST LAKE and enjoyed it. The narrator is quite good and if you like BOCDs I recommend listening to LOST LAKE. The Southern accents are impeccable and really bring the characters to life. Enjoy your read!

I've read The Winter Sea and Mariana. I enjoy the fantasy and paranormal aspects of both, and plan to read more.

Let me know how you like it, please.
(I can't read it right now.)

I really enjoyed The Witch's Daughter too. I'll be looking forward to your thoughts on The Midnight Witch.

. It was very good."
I'm glad you liked it. I have it on my mp3 player and am looking forward to getting to it soon.
I saw you're in Ashburn. I lived in Northern Virginia many years and made the trip down Rt. 7 quite often, usually to Leesburg.

I'm reading Travels with Charley: In Search of America. John Steinbeck traveled around the country with his dog Charley in an effort to rediscover America.
