I'm now reading The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese So, far, I'm finding it very slow, without much conflict, which is surprising to me since people seem to love it. I'll give it a little more time before I abandon it, but the author has gotten on my wrong side already.
I also read The Trees by Percival Everett over the weekend, though I haven't written a review yet. Now there is someone who knows how to write a book. It was dark and fantastic, but it made me sad.

You've got a lot of books in your reading pile Kiki. Nice going. 👍

Too many, Barbara. I'm starting to feel overwhelmed.

The heat and my PT have me exhausted. The PT is hard! But I'm determined.

Most of the new mysteries (written by new people) just don't seem to hold up for me. I can always count on Ian Rutledge, though.

I have that on hold at the library, but I'm 397 on 71 copies. It goes fast, though.
