message 1860: by Lynda (new)

Lynda Filler | 16 comments I'm working on a new memoir. The response was so amazing to LOVE The Beat Goes On, my healing journey, that I felt the time as right for another chapter. My journey from Canada to living in Mexico and now I'm in Istanbul brought me to explore the Middle East. I shouldn't be surprised as most of my Code Raven Books are set somewhere in the ME. All of this led me back to the Essential Rumi. My fans will be happy to hear that the second memoir will link what we know to who we are and to some of the beloved poetry of Rumi.

message 1868: by Noora (new)

Noora Alsuwaidi (goodreadscomnoora_alsuwaidi) | 8 comments I'm reading The Fever Code for James Dashner. I delayed reading it for months because I almost know the maze runner series by heart, I needed to separate myself from the series for a while. I liked the series, especially the third book, that I reread it a few times.

Now I'm reading The Fever Code, I think this book is even darker than the rest of the series, I want to know how it will end, and mostly I'll write a review about it.

message 1879: by Charlie (last edited May 05, 2020 02:16AM) (new)

Charlie Just finished Not Forgetting the Whale by John Ironmonger .
Fictional story about a crisis and how a small community copes. Avoiding spoiler alerts, it's very close to home and the current coronavirus situation. Had to put down at times when too painful to read, but overall inspiring (and hopeful).
Contemplating what to read next..., but as it's VE day soon, and in lockdown. I've "borrowed" my partner's book. (Very) small print but looks good? Six Minutes in May How Churchill Unexpectedly Became Prime Minister by Nicholas Shakespeare

message 1889: by Lynda (new)

Lynda Filler | 16 comments I'm re-reading On Writing by Stephen King. I think this will be my fifth time! I'm currently living in Istanbul, Turkey, and writing another memoir. I'd forgotten the whole family dynamics of Stephen King's early years. It's rather hilarious and very honest and real. I love it! And the writing tips are of course, perfect. That's saying a lot from an author who has never ever read a Stephen King novel because I don't like his genre, But I admire his talent.
