hehehe hows life?

message 352: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments Busy. Tyler graduates May 25. People are coming to stay at our house so they can celebrate with us. I'm a haphazard housekeeper. Need to step up my game, and there'll be lots of cooking and entertaining. Should keep me out of trouble for the entire month.

Congrats! but lots of people could mean lots of helping hands, right? :-)

message 354: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments Both of my daughters always help in the kitchen. So does John's brother. We're going to have a great time. Just busy. Good for me. Bumps me away from my computer.

message 355: by Sylvia (new)

Sylvia Hester | 6 comments At the moment, I'm not really reading anything. Busy working on another draft of my book. Hopefully I will have it finish by the end of the month. But between needed mental breaks sometimes, I am reading a page here and there of "DeadLocked" by Charlaine Harris.

Oh well, we'll miss ya

message 357: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments I'll be around until the 18th, just not as much. Too nosey. Don't want to miss anything. But then I'll be swamped for a while. You guys will probably do something exciting while I'm gone. And way to go, Sylvia! Is this your final draft? Isn't it fun to see how a book shapes up?

Just started yesterday <3

message 361: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments Fiona, are you one of those people who read more than one book at a time? I can't manage that.

message 362: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) Judith, 1 is Kindle and other is tree book lol x

message 363: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments Love "tree book." I've never heard that before. But so true. Great!

message 364: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) If I fancy reading 'tree book' for comfort lol, then I get to turn pages instead of pressing a button :-D

message 365: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments Hate to say it, but I love both. Started out swearing I wanted to turn pages. That I loved the feel of a book. And I do. But then my daughter bought me a Kindle, and I was seduced by books under $3.99 by authors I can't find in the book stores. So now, I love both. Not an either/or for me. I love pages AND buttons. Same as you.

message 366: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) I've read more Kindle books than tree books (this will be my 1st of the year lol)

message 367: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments You're flying through books! I'm jealous.

message 370: by Kayden (new)

Kayden Lee (kaydenlee) | 14 comments I always feel like such a slow reader when I am on Goodreads. LOL One book at a time, and seems to take forever for me to get thru it. Reading With Every Breath by Maureen Smith right now.

Rebecca Elswick (wwwgoodreadscomrebeccaelswick) | 51 comments Just started Major Pettigrew's Last Stand.

message 373: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments Kayden, I know how you feel. People on Goodreads fly through a book while I'm finishing a chapter.

Ugh...I've been reading the same book for a week now! I usually read at least two a week...Not because it's not good, but I've been so busy! Graduation, family in town, etc...

So, still reading Eden by Keary Taylor
Hoping to have it finished in a couple more days.

Listening to Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate

message 375: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments Our first guest should get here in an hour. Finally have everything ready. My daughter and son-in-law get here on Thursday. All for Ty's high school graduation. His Open House is Saturday. Probably won't see my computer or a book for a week. I'll be going into withdrawal.

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) This morning I finished Abide with Me - Ian Ayris. Now I am going to see what the hype is about and read Fifty Shades of Grey - E.L. James

message 379: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments I'll be curious what you think of 50 Shades. I bought it and my daughter beat me to it, but didn't fall in love with it, so I've been stalling.

I wasn't terribly impressed. I've started the second in the series, but I'm not sure I'm going to finish the rest of them after Torment.

Did you think the second book was as good as the first? I'm debating whether to buy it or not.

message 391: by Sheri, Bookworm (new)

Sheri | 6874 comments Mod
Katie, I thought the first and second books were good and had to read the third to see how it all ended, but I didn't think the third was as good as the first two.

message 392: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) I think you NEED to read book 2 as it'll give you the insight of why he is like he is x

message 393: by Steena (new)

Steena Holmes (steenaholmes) I just finished On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves and enjoyed it. Has anyone else read it?

Reading Solstice by Bryan W. Dull

message 395: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments Just finished reading On Unfaithful Wings (An Icarus Fell novel) by Bruce Blake. About an ordinary guy who's killed and makes a deal to be a harvester of souls. It kept surprising me, but the Afterworld looked sort of undependable. That threw me a little.
