Tiffany (herbtiff) Congrats! You have completed your goal of reading 60 books for the 2012 Reading Challenge!

message 252: by Veronika (new)

Veronika (vforveronika) I'm failing miserably at mine. I set it for a measly 30 books but so far I have only been able to accomplish 21. I would be a little further along but I'm stuck on Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. I was supposed to read it for school but I didn't finish it on time so I had to sparknote some of it. However, I still want to finish it and I won't allow myself to move on until I do lol!
I probably would have completed this year's goal and those of the past if I stopped procrastinating and actually read the books assigned at school for a change lol. Hopefully 2013 is much better!

I finished 2012 with 314 of 300 (105%). How did everyone else do? Ready to start over with 2013? :-)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) I completed mine. I aimed for 60 and finished the year with 75. =)

Ellen (elliearcher) I completed mine-I aimed for 150 & finished with 105.

How come they took down the 2012 challenge already (without the banner?). It's depressing just to see the 0 books read for 2013.

This year, I think I'll frontload some easier books instead of rushing through the last year. I read some dense, long books last year-Cloud Atlas, Infinite Jest, The Recognitions, Gravity's Rainbow, & The Instructions are the ones that come to mind as taking up the most time. They're also the ones I'm most proud of finishing.

Of course, I started this year with The Magus by John Fowles which doesn't look to be an especially fast read! :#

After I finish it, I think I'll put in some mysteries before tackling my next "hard" book.

Congrats to everyone else for meeting their goals-or at least giving it their best shot. I like to "win" (even when it's my own goal) but in the end all that matters is that I have a good reading year. I definitely did & hope you all did as well.

hi

glad that you are happy with what you have read- t is all about what you enoy reading and not quantity.

was wondering as you said you completed yours whether you meant you read 155?

message 258: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (hobbitual_reader) My goal was set in November so I only challenged myself to 10 books, but then I added as many books as I could remember reading before I joined in November. I read 21 books between September and The New Year :)
