I don't know but we will find out since this book is from his POV!

Definitely Kaleb and here is why Ferdy...CHARACTER ARCH! Thank God Myra McEntire is capable of propelling her characters forward! I loved Kaleb's story so much more than Michael and Emersons'. Timepiece blows Hourglass out of the water, seriously. Michael is bland, Kaleb is full of life and yet is flawed at the same time...just like most people. Michael is too perfect, something major is up with him. I guess we will find out in Infinityglass..

Definite..."
I like flawed guys, but I didn't find Kaleb's particular flaws endearing..I thought he was the typical 'bad boy' who drank, slept around and was constantly sarcastic to hide his 'man-pain'..I've read this character a thousand times and at first it was great and now I just find it annoying and cliched. I disliked Kaleb's constant strops with his dad and him having a go at Michael just because he was jealous..he had a great childhood, a great home and a loving dad but he acted like he was so hard done by..I'm not saying he didn't have problems but the ones he had(to me) weren't enough to excuse his attitude/behaviour..I draw on and compare my own life and personal experiences when I'm reading, so I'm put off when I read about characters that I think have so much good going for them yet refuse to see it because they're so busy wallowing about all the bad things in their life..the only time I excuse characters for poor behaviour/attitude/self pity is if they have absolutely nothing going for them or if I think they've changed enough and Kaleb didn't change enough for my liking and he only changed when things were looking up for him, i.e finding Lily, his dad reassuring hiim and his mum getting better.. I would have respected him more if he became a better person when he still had problems in his life.
There's no argument that Micheal is bland, too perfect and a bit of a Gary Stu but I personally like that over Kaleb's character.
I can understand why some readers like Kaleb better, there's a lot to be said for the 'reformed' character but I personally didn't like Kaleb's character and journey.

For those that are saying Kaleb acted childish regarding his animosity toward Michael. I don't know about you but I've been in those shoes. Even at this age, the person that I was compared to, I hear their name and I instantly get pissy. Imagine you see your parents hold someone that's not you, their child, as so smart, so worldly, and they treat them as a confidante. How would you feel when you're a teenager that a) is at the worst age possible, the teen years are murderous on a lot of people, b) dealing with a power that you don't understand and every time you try to talk to your dad he runs off to talk to your 'rival' instead, and c) also think that you might be in love with said rival's girlfriend. I'd be kind of not perfect too. His flaws are human, and quite honestly, normal for a teen boy.
Michael is hiding something, and whatever it is, its huge. He's too perfect for me. I like a little irredeemable bad boy in my heroes/lead male characters. Kaleb seems to be more approachable than Michael, and by the end of Timepiece he's changed and moving forward.
