Jim | 498 comments I was listening to Lou Reed's 1989 masterwork New York -- it is the Last Exit to Brooklyn soundtrack. Trannies, cruelty, poverty, child abuse, drugs.... fun for the whole family.

If someone told me Hubert Selby invented crack and AIDS just to have something new to write about, I wouldn't be a bit surprised.

Bonus: In 2003, Reed put out a concept/theme album: The Raven.

I'll have to check that record out. I don't listen to much post-70s Lou Reed, but this sounds like it warrants a listen.
