Let's start discussing The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes on the 15th. I'm almost finished and like it very much.

I think I said I will not be able to join, my library system has too long of a wait. I did put it on hold so I might get it in three months. I put on hold The Stranger's Child hopefully it will come before we will discuss it. I am number 17 in queue.

There are over 50 holds on the book in my library system, though I've moved up to # 45. Still, I doubt I'll get my hands on a copy before March.

I am 168th in line LOL, I might get it next Christmas.

I guess I am lucky. I am 6th in line (started at only 29th). Since there are 71 copies, I don't expect it to take too much longer.

I'm really lucky. I put it on my request list for Christmas, and got it!

I chose State of Wonder, Someone Knows My Name, The Big Sleep & Farewell, My Lovely, The House in Paris, andThe Secret Scripture to purchase. I thought the library would have the rest, not thinking about the wait list.

I think this book is well worth purchasing and reading with the group. There will be a lot to discuss.

I am looking forward to this discussion. I think it will be especially interesting for those in our group who have also read The Good Solider and Old Filth.

FYI, in terms of the library queues, the way the system works here makes your number on the list not that relevant. When the book comes back to a particular library, the computer scans the list and sees who from that particular library is next in the queue, regardless of their total overall number. I am not sure if all systems work that way, but it makes it a bit unpredictable. In other words, sometimes you can get really lucky.

Maybe I will get lucky, as the library I use has a copy, but it is loaned out to another library in the system.
I can't buy anymore books right now, so it will have to wait Jane.

I bought the book for my Kindle and am half-way through. So far, I really like it. I'm looking forward to the discussion.

I'm reading it on my Kindle too, Ann. I'm only about 15% through but I like it a lot as well.

Just got it on my Kindle, too; plan on starting it tonight.

Started this one and hope to read more on back and forth journey to see daughter's family (nearly 4 hours each way). It is a fairly short book and what I've read so far is pretty quick reading.
