I just saw this, and I found it very interesting. I honestly hope that they do it, because I really like Apple for the most part, and I think they would be very good to authors -- at least, hopefully better than a lot of the others out there.

This is true. But if they open up their own venture, then this may change. And who knows what they will make the books available for. Maybe Apple is looking at releasing an e-reader -- not the iPad, but something else? THAT would be interesting.

This may be true, but from some of the posts I've read about their new venture, they were wanting to challenge Nook (moreover Kindle) directly, so it may be smart for them to put out an e-reader. I personally like Apple, so I wouldn't mind. And the more readers I can reach, the better. :)

Not sure how I feel about this, to be honest. Though, I guess they'll at least be more honest of a self publishing venture than Xlibris and Publish America.
