Dylan (dmfriend26) Hi, my name's Dylan, I'm 16 and I love paranormal romance novels! I've read Twilight and New Moon. I'm going to start Eclipse soon, and was wondering if there are any other good paranormal romance series out there. Or just plain romance too, I love Nicholas Sparks. The Notebook made me cry, and that never happens to me in a movie. I'm reading some Nicholas Sparks novels now and have fallen in love all over again with a romance author. So any suggestions for a newbie romance lover?

Thanks!!! :D
-Dylan

Edit: Sorry! This is supposed to be in the Off-Topic section. :(

Judi (sidhevicious) | 5 comments Hi Dylan!

There are sooo many paranormal romance books out there! Some of the series I enjoy are: Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter/Dream Hunter series, Gena Showalter's Lords Of The Underworld, JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood, Lynsay Sands's Argeneau Vampires, Amanda Ashley, Nina Bangs, Michelle Rowan, Kresley Cole, Meljean Brooks, and there are just too many to list here.

If you check out the "keeper shelf" and "TBR" pages on my review blog at http://sidhevicious.wordpress.com/ , there are hundreds listed. Hope that helps you get started! :)

Michelle | 7 comments Hi Dylan, if you dont really want to go into the whole sex side of things P.C Cast writes a series of books 'The house of night' The first one is called 'Marked' and it is aimed at teenagers. I agree with Judi though, there are too many to mention but Sherrilyn Kenyon is an excellent choice to start reading. The bonus being there are heaps in her 'Dark-Hunter series.

Dylan (dmfriend26) Cool, I'll get marked next. It looked good and I've been eyeing it for a long time. I was to start The Black Dagger Brotherhood, but I can't find the 1st one. It had the red cover. Anyway, I've finished New Moon, and I'm going to start Eclipse soon. I also wanted to read either The Vampire Diaries or Night World. Are they any good? Thanks so much for your suggestions! :D

Lori (moderatrixlori) Hi Dylan, I have a spreadsheet I can send you with hundreds of suggestions. Most are not YA though so the amount of sex varies. Not sure what your preference on that is. There's also a tab for erotica which you should ignore until you turn 18 . If you want it, send me an email with your email address.

Melissa If you haven't read them already I highly recommend City of Bones and City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare. The third book in that series, City of Glass, is to be published in March. It is Young Adult and deals with the Fae and Faery side of the paranormal realm. There are some cool Vamps too. I liked these books just as much as the Twilight series.

Hi Lori! I'm new to the group to and would love to have a copy of the spreadsheet!

Lori (moderatrixlori) I can second the suggestion to read the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. The first two books were excellent and I'm looking forward to City of Glass.

Michelle | 7 comments Hi again Dylan, Not sure if you have the first 'Black Dagger Brotherhood' book yet but the bookshops can usually order it in pretty quick. Another problem with bookshops though is most of them order from a few different places so the covers can vary. My first 'BDB' book is from the U.K. and has a black and .... I guess you would call it gold... cover. Sometimes the ones from the U.K. are more expensive though.

Jennifer (jen421) | 201 comments The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith is a fabulous series. Especially if you love the Twilight series.

message 11: by Dylan (new)

Dylan (dmfriend26) I'll have to read Vampire diaries than. Yeah, Wal Mart has almost every black dagger brotherhood except the first one. Grr! They do have the first sookie sackhouse book; should I get that? I got The Outsiders tonight. I know it's not romance, but it's one of my all time favorite books! Who else likes it?
