John Colgrove (ArcadiaDivine) | 3 comments I'm trying to find a good science fiction book in third person (not omniscient). What do you guys suggest?

I tend to favor books that mix other genres together. I especially love it when magic is mixed with high technology.

Also I don't want anything generic. I want to read a book that puts a nice twist to something already established.

John Colgrove (ArcadiaDivine) | 3 comments I'll have to try both. All the Windwracked Stars sounds even better than Old Man's War

Greyweather | 231 comments Now that I've had more time to think about it, I think Liz Williams' Detective Inspector Chen books, starting with Snake Agent, are probably up your alley too.

I think you might also enjoy some of the Warhammer 40,000 novels produced by the Black Library. Dan Abnett, author of the Gaunt's Ghosts series, is especially good.

My favorite book that blends sci-fi and fantasy elements is Roger Zelazny's Lord of Light, but if I remember right, it is third person omniscient.

Peggy (psramsey) | 393 comments John Varley's Titan trilogy is third person, and blends sci-fi and fantasy elements, though it is much heavier on the sci-fi.

Dwarf Years ago I've read Never Deal with a Dragon it's nice, But if you like a Blend SF and Fantasy I recomend Jack Vance books. They are great. And maybe you like The Folk of the Air it's just modern age plus magic. But the climate are wonderful.
