what if the page number listed on the official book page itself is wrong? unless someone is looking at a copy of the book with their own eyes, how do they know for sure?

Sandra | 31414 comments Michele, librarians generally check WorldCat when someone makes a request to change page numbers. If there is any doubt then we might ask how the member came to that number of pages.

You must also remember that pages numbers differ between editions so it is important to check the correct ISBN.
