UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 64 comments I'm not sure how to do this, so I wanted to ask for help rather than risk crashing the entire WWW.

Norah Wilson's series, "Serve and Protect", has been titled "To Serve and Protect" and I don't know how to correct that. Can someone tell me how?

Nina (ridyananda) | 6 comments go click the series' name. Below it you'll find 'edit' option. Can you find it?

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 64 comments I'll check...

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 64 comments Okay it kind of worked... on the page where it lists all the books in a column, it still says To Serve and Protect, but when I click on each book, it says Serve and Protect.

Looks like the author uses the "To":

Nina (ridyananda) | 6 comments usually there's 10-minutes wait. maybe you should try to look again in a while

That is the only place where she uses "To", everywhere else (even her newest blog post) leaves it out. The covers leave it out also.

But that's the official book listing on her website. Just because she uses shorthand elsewhere should not override that, in my opinion.

But just above where it says "To Serve and Protect" it says "In the Serve and Protect series:"

Also, on the Reviews page it has:
"The reviews are in for GUARDING SUZANNAH, the first book in my Serve and Protect series!"

It looks more like the "To" was a mistake

I think we should just use Serve and Protect

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 64 comments The books say "Serve and Protect", the images say it... the title is supposed to be Serve and Protect, but I can contact her, rivka, if you'd like. (we're in touch on Twitter) and ask her.

Sounds like a plan.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 64 comments I sent her a message, rivka. I've only seen it listed once with the To in the title, but I understand wanting to be certain.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 64 comments This was her reply - "I just call it the Serve and Protect Series, but I'm perfectly okay with To Serve and Protect. I'm easy. :)"

So I think it should be changed to what she calls it.... Serve and Protect.

Kathy Davie (kathydavie) | 13 comments I've screwed up on a series name change for Christine Feehan's Dark series. Dark Celebration should be Dark, #17 and I made a typo and left off the "1".

Is there a way to fix this sort of error on my own or is this the best method?

message 16: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Davie (kathydavie) | 13 comments Well, there seems to be more screw-ups within the Christine Feehan Dark series. If short stories are being number as x.5, there are three short stories that have been given a primary book number.

Dark Dream would be 6.5
Dark Descent would be 9.5
Dark Hunger would then be 11.5

With all the books after Dark Dream needing renumbering.

Is there any possibility of adding a new field that would list the name of the actual book that contains these short stories? It drives me nuts to have no way of knowing that a) it is a short story and b) what the book title is where I can find the short story.

Kathy Davie (kathydavie) | 13 comments Okay, I'm being stupid. Dark Dream is listed here as an e-book which I take it means that it's a standalone novella. However, from what I understand, novellas are still considered between books which means it should be an x.5. Yes? No?

Kathy Davie (kathydavie) | 13 comments I've been reading Feehan's Sisters of the Heart series and per her website...as well as the second book in this series, both the Drake Sisters series and the Sisters of the Heart series form one larger series called Sea Haven. How would this be referenced in GR?

message 19: by Carol (new)

Carol Weldon | 23 comments I'd would think:
title (2nd series # x) (main series # x). So for Feehan: title (Sisters of the Heart # x) (Sea Haven # x)
More authors are doing this.

Actually I thought you were supposed to leave them OUT of the title now and use the series button... I do know if you do, it will list all available series on the details.. the main one being first

Carol Weldon | 23 comments I am new but the manual still says:
"If the book is part of a series, that information should be included within parentheses following the title. The standard accepted format on Goodreads is as follows:

(Series Name, #_) "

Yes.

As for series info in the title info, that is optional now. (But don't remove it unless it's there incorrectly.) One of these weekends there won't be a more pressing project, and I'll have a chance to update the manual.
