Great book but to enjoy this set aside a lot of time to let it settle between readings.

Kirsten!! you seem a little confused (although I'm very happy you took the time to edify people who have trouble getting clear about how you really just can't ban books). But then you sort of "ban" and edit yourself for quoting Twain in his use of the word nigger.

Excuse me, but folks, give me a break read the book. If you can't get past a word and get to the huge incredible awe-inspiring story of Huck's "education" and learning how Jim was one of the most decent and noble of humans, then quit reading and go bury your head in the sand!!!

I guess I might as well laugh at myself here too, after looking at what I've written I feel like I'm a grumpy old teacher..going off into the sunset grumbling to herself. Guess I'll light out for the Territories...while playing some Moon River..my huckleberry friend and me wherever you're going...i'm going your way...
