Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Whenever i get a pull down list for Henry David Thoreau one of the entries is "Henry David Thoreau." with the period.

I'm guessing that that's because some book somewhere has the author field filled that way.

Any clues on the best way to find it?

I pulled the author profile and it is corrected now

The easiest way to sort this out is to use the "add book/author/ link in a comment field - search for the author - you'll find the different variants show up - select the profile i.e. Henry David Thoreau. and merge in to the correct profile

thanks. that's very clever. I'd forgotten about that as I've been editing quotes lately. Correcting misspelled tags, etc
