Cheryl (cherylllr) | 363 comments Give me any of your thoughts about librivox editions please. My husband listens to audiobooks of all lengths from there.

He added (with guidance from me) the librivox edition of History Repeats, then I combined. Did we do good?

What if it weren't a 35 minute story but only a 6 minute story?

He used to just put a review on the Kindle edition, but I told him that was a bad idea. After all, putting librivox.org in the publisher field and creating a role for the narrator is helpful to other goodreaders and is more accurate.

But the very short story, Keep Out, by Fredric Brown, is not on goodreads even though there is a Kindle edition listed on Amazon. Should he add the (librivox edition of) the book, so that he can review it?

There's also another edition of History Repeats that I did not combine because I didn't know if I should. Should I have done so?

What other policies and practices re' librivox audiobooks, especially short stories, do we have?

vicki_girl | 2764 comments For, the edition you added, overall it looks pretty good, here are a few of my suggestions:

1) I would add a little more detail about the story itself to the description. I would just copy and paste from one of the existing kindle editions.

2) I would remove the following:

Source: E-text
[mp3@64kbps - 16.6MB]
[mp3@128kbps - 33.2MB]
[ogg vorbis - 24MB]

This info is available on the librivox site when you click the link.

3) I would also put the link in the url box, rather than the description.

I think the general rule is that any text produced as its own entity can be listed as an entry. However, this means if it only existed in a magazine or only existed in an anthology, it should not be listed separately. Once it is a librivox edition or a kindle edition, I believe it counts as "book", regardless of length.

All editions of the same work should be combined. I performed a search and saw another edition of History Repeats. It looks like the author needs corrected, and then the book combined. Please combine them, or I can if you aren't comfortable with the author edits.

:)

This sounds good. I'll encourage him to add all the audiobook stories he listens to, unless someone says no.

Please do the author correct and the combine for History Repeats; thanks!

vicki_girl | 2764 comments Items have been combined, along with some others that were attributed to the same (incorrect) author spelling.
