ah well. I guess there's next year. Though holding BEA in June already has me over the barrel and I'm working while I'm at BEA just to attend ;-;

Haha, don't worry, I will be too. Bringing the laptop, just like I did last year. My man is rooming with me too and he'll be doing the same thing. :)
My boss, when he found out I'd be in the city for a whole week on vacation, got this strange look in his eye and asked me how I would feel about meeting with vendors and the merchandizing team and checking out the stores in the city. "It would only be a couple of lunches and dinners, a few cocktails. I'm sure your book thing won't take long." I very nearly slugged the man. XD

Won't take long? Looolz Aw, so funny.

Does this mean your company is footing the hotel bill?

Nope. The best he said was they'd pay for the commute into the city and the business meals/drinks (which is what they'd pay me if I wasn't going for vacation). I already told him its not happening, regardless of BEA, its my VACATION. I don't want to deal with the nasty merchandizing team, the twitchy vendors and the reluctant store managers.

Is anyone actually going to the Blogger Conference? Do you know if it includes admittance to the next three days of BEA?

No, I'm not going. And yes, it allows you access to the exhibit halls.

Read. Blog. Learn.
You can read anywhere. You can blog almost anywhere. But where—besides, Twitter, of course—can you go to learn and be inspired and connect with others who share your passion for books and blogging?
The third annual Book Blogger Convention, scheduled for Monday, June 4, 2012, is a one-day event providing instruction, interaction, and creative space for book bloggers and publishing industry professionals. And don't let the proliferation of reading glasses and laptop cases fool you—this event is as fun as it is educational.
Improve your skills with the practical aspects of blogging (technology, social media, and keeping track of all those galleys), share your thoughts about ethics and how to navigate the gray areas, and ask your burning questions about working with publicists and publishers. And network, network, network. Make the connections that will help you take your blog to the next level!
