Goodreads Authors/Readers discussion

Hi - I'm working with some Goodreads authors and real world writer friends to put together a blog which focuses on reader/writer dynamics - we've already got some author interviews lined up, guest posts on why we write YA, etc. We're also interviewing some of the biggest bloggers in the YA world too looking at what they get out of the relationships they have with writers.

The aim is for the blog to introduce readers to new authors and network well with existing 'review sites' - the edge is on writers looking at how their work is fed by their reading and so guest reviews of books that you can talk about how it influenced your work are also welcome.

OK - enough waffle - get in touch with me (Bonnie) who's doing the main admin for us if you'd like to feature we will offer (to begin with):

- Author interviews
- Character interviews
- Guest review on a book of your choice - with a slant on how it might influence your YA work
- Guest post of your choice on a YA writing related issue or your own writing experiences - anything goes!

We'll be posting three types of the above features each week and can juggle dates at the moment to tie in with blog tours/release dates for your work if you need.

Hi Karina - not at all - as we're all writers in one form or another we've just really enjoyed the interactions we've had with bloggers through our own promotions and the idea has come from there. We're hoping to create a nice showcase for the readers behind their writing (if that makes sense) so that non-writers can see a different side to the authors and maybe get ideas for how reading inspires writers.

Stone Cold is a supernatural thriller. The reviews are now coming in after a 5 book giveaway.

And In Times of Violence which is my best seller up to date, is a YA urban thriller you can think of In Times of Violence as the 2012 version of OUTSIDERS.

It's been sometime since I've done an interview, but I do love answering questions. And feel free to post up synopsis cover and reviews of my books.

I don't know if it'd be appropriate for me to take part or not -- your call. My science fiction novel Twin-Bred has several important teenaged characters in the last half of the book, and one 15-year-old reviewer believes it can fairly be viewed as a SF/YA crossover. I could do a character interview for one of the teenaged characters....

How fun! Providing a forum for more interaction between writers and readers is exactly what we need! My book, Askari, will be out in May.
