Cornelia (stage) | 86 comments I'm probably blind, but there definitely isn't any button or anything similar to "Rescue me!" I've searched the books the email mentioned thoroughly. So help, please?

message 3: by Cornelia (new)

Cornelia (stage) | 86 comments Thanks. I'm currently rescuing - and publication dates aren't accepted despite being indicated in the book. What then?

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 316 comments Is it giving you an error? (Like a "hey! that date is before the earliest publication date! ?) That's been happening a lot. We librarians have been going back in and fixing those after the fact.

Maybe you could make a list and then a librarian could help? ISBN & publication date would be sufficient, I assume. And whatever else needs to be added/changed/fixed.

Cornelia (stage) | 86 comments Yes, it says this: translation missing: de.activerecord.errors.template.header

translation missing: de.activerecord.errors.template.body

Publication year must be equal to or after the original publication year

To whom should I send the list?

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 316 comments I'd say once you've got a list together, post it in the Goodreads Librarians group, here:

http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/220

Probably under "Book Issues". That way, whoever has time can fix them!

Cloudedleopard | 139 comments I don't know whether this is the right place to post, but I noticed that some of my "may be merged" books got merged into some Norwegian or Netherlandian edition before I could put a hand at it. After the whole edition merging I'm willing to change my edition to the closest that I really own but I think it should have been avoided to merge books into "some European" edition instead of giving the owners the opportunity to add their copy (at least in their own language).

message 8: by Cornelia (new)

Cornelia (stage) | 86 comments I've noticed that, too, and am currently working on adding exactly the editions I do own. Sometimes it means to delete the book you think you owned ;-) from your own shelf and then add the actual book you have. If you apply for librarian (I did yesterday), it is much easier. It's very time consuming, though.

vicki_girl | 2764 comments If the books are combined, which they should be in these cases, you should be able to select 'switch to this edition'. Then you do not have to delete it from your shelves. All your shelf tags, review, etc. will be moved to the other edition.

message 10: by Cloudedleopard (new)

Cloudedleopard | 139 comments I already heard that merged books might also be separated again within some weeks time. Maybe we should all give a little extra-time for the staff and volunteers to handle the new data and see what happens.

9780778325765 rhe reincarnationists I just reviewed a couple of days ago, in the my books section 3 books by Catherine coulter, plu Blood Relations, Manchu, and 12 other books, the covers were there yesterday and since I added them

message 14: by Paula (new)

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments There are a lot of changes occurring with the data at the moment. Any images or data that are sourced by amazon will be removed - GR where starting to do this.

There is nothing in the logs to indicate that the images have been deleted by a user but it is quite possible during the rescue that an image could not be found to replace the amazon version hence no cover.

if you know what the cover looks like and can post a copy or link to it some one can upload. But you need to supply ISBN's for each edition

message 15: by Cornelia (new)

Cornelia (stage) | 86 comments I've seen that happening, too. Some pictures went missing from this late afternoon to now. I guess, it's because they had Amazon as a source.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

I have been looking through the giveaways and some covers are missing there too will this be permanent? I havent bought any books by Amazon myself, will gr have a new source?

message 17: by Paula (new)

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments Hopefully the new import sources will provide covers (some have been updating covers) or librarians will find and upload covers to replace those that where amazon sourced

message 18: by Cornelia (new)

Cornelia (stage) | 86 comments I've searched for and uploaded quite some covers today. *look*
