I like that idea. If there are others interested let it be known.

If you would like to see the books on our bookshelf you can click on bookshelf on the menu on the top right of this page or here is the link to it: http://www.goodreads.com/group/booksh...

2. A help/tips section. For example, I just downloaded a 28-book pack only to find the narrators sound like robots and half of the chapters have no name or number. It would be nice to have somewhere to ask whether anyone has found these books in a better format, how to know if you're downloading a robotic book meant for blind people, etc. (And tips in general - best sites, etc)

Are there topics you guys would like to chat about? Are there games/challenges we can enjoy together?
What makes a group good for you? For me, its the interaction with people and getting to meet new people and make new friends.

I wanted to pass on an interesting YouTube video. How Johanna Parker, who is the voice of Sookie Stackhouse does the recordings. It is titled "Inside the Studio".
We all listen and love the inflections and voices, but there is much more that goes into our listening pleasure than we know. It is over 8 minutes long but it is a good 8+ minutes. I appreciate the readers abilities more. Check it out!

But here goes, I hope it works...

Hopefully you will get the right one.Let me know, okay?

But I really have enjoyed her voice. I listened to all of the Sookie Stackhouse books. I think part of the draw of a book, is the person that the author chooses to have the book read by.
By the way this is a really great chance to share books that I have enjoyed via AudioBooks! Such a great idea I wonder who came up with the idea in the first place? Anyone know this answer?
If you go to Simon & Schuster's site, you will see that she has 6 more books that she has narrated. 2 Jennifer Weiner, 2 Fern Michaels and 2 others....

Thanks Pat. :D

I looked to be sure I had not given the wrong info- you are right, and it is not there anymore. Sorry. But I did find it by going to Google, and entering Johanna Parker Narrator.

I both love and hate when a book is so touching that I am crying or laughing. I do prefer to laugh, and Fanny Flagg can do that....or absolutely sob, One Thousand White Women..The Shoemakers' Wife, Adriana Trigiani's newest. Some of the books just touch my heart!
I have actually had to put it to the side for a few days. I do tend to get wrapped up in the stories! Does anyone else get this effect from their reading via AudioBooks? I find myself pondering a situation, and thinking, now what would I do if that were me?
I am so very glad my friend introduced me to the great big world of Audio-Bibliophiles! I really would be missing a great opportunity to enjoy so many great books!

games to play like Audio Sprinting: You set the time to read starting on any minute your clock has and in the end you post how many chapters you could listen to in that time, this helps you with making time to listen to books and get on schedule with reading. It's fun and you can also comment on the book that you are listening to.
Greetings.

My suggestion is, that whoever nominated the winner of the book-of-the-month discussion should be encouraged to lead the discussion.

Thanks Cheryl and everyone for your input. I like your idea Cheryl about the winning book for the group read having its nominator/s being encouraged to lead the discussion is worthwhile.
