E. W. Robinson (ewrobinson) Hi all, any thoughts on Booktrack.com - which has taken the idea of synchronising music, effects and ambient tracks to text and made it a worldwide phenomenon. My personal connection to this is the love of music and writing and wish to prompt more discussion on the merits of the combination. One example of my own making and still in development can be found at outinvention.wordpress.com/2017/09/06... - this will give you an idea of what I am talking about. I think it is important I gain user feedback from audiobook listeners to see how music and text could best be combined.

Larry Loftis I'm Larry Loftis, author and fan of great books ... especially ones read by terrific narrators. Was hooked when I heard George Guidall narrate a Vince Flynn book many years ago.

Now I have my own books to be read, and was thrilled to hear that Simon Audio is going with the best in the business, Kate Reading, for my upcoming book, Code Name: Lise: The True Story of the Woman Who Became WWII's Most Highly Decorated Spy

I listened to portions of her reading Pride and Prejudice, and then Flaubert's Madame Bovary (for which I recently posted a Goodreads review), and was so impressed. She's fabulous!

Cheers.

Kris Keppeler | 1 comments Hi I'm Kris. I'm an audiobook narrator and producer. I love telling funny stories so I narrate a weekly podcast, Does This Happen to You. If you'd like to indulge in a micro-audiobook, you will find Does This Happen to You on most podcast apps, and on YouTube.

Stories about life and befuddlement from fantastic writers!

J.T. Blossom | 2 comments Hi everybody! I'm an author with my first audiobook out just two days ago. It's called, "The Last Football Player," and its middle grade Y/A Science Fiction read by a puppeteer! I will tell you that it is as fun to make an audiobook as it is to listen to them!

Tariel Yong | 2 comments Hi all, I just joined in today and... I'm not sure if anyone here is still active on goodreads but I sure am, haha.

I'm from Malaysia and have loved books since I was little. My first few books were encyclopaedias from my parents.

And urm, due to the amount of verbal to physical bullying in primary to secondary school, the library has always been my safe haven for me during recess time.

Of course, my love for comics to video games and teen/kid maganizes was thanks to a store owner who sold items from toys, stationaries, foodstuff (snacks, bread, eggs, candy, etc.), cleaning supplies, etc.

We call them 'kedai runcit' (kinda like 7-11 before international/franchise convenience stores were a thing). Just a place owned by an individual, selling whatever they think the locals nearby might need for their daily use.

They're like small scale groceries stores at shop-lots in neighbourhoods unlike the ones found in malls.

Apparently, amongst my friends, I was told that I was one of the lucky ones who managed to get access to marvel and DC comics at our local store.

My loves for books grew from my time at two local bookstores and an international bookstore that were found in malls.

And now... With my busy work schedule, I've started to appreciate ebooks, book reading apps and audiobooks. Which saved me a lot of time and apace to listen/learn something as I do digital design work in the office or when I am exercising. (I really need breaks electronic screens, haha).

And yeah, that's my summary on my journey with my love for books.

Hope y'all liked it. XD
