Antonella | 98 comments Thank you for the link to the interview. And for inviting me. Although I would have probably noticed this group in a year time or so ;-)

ETA: I tried to leave a comment on that homepage, but it looks like it didn't work...

Ginn Hale (ginnhale) | 319 comments Hey, I just got invited to join this group... Uhm I probably should have thought of starting one like it myself but I'm kind of terrible at that sort of thing... and I've been really distracted by the new novel I'm working on.

Cleon Lee | 7 comments Hi, Ginn! New novel? AWESOME! :)

message 5: by Ginn (new)

Ginn Hale (ginnhale) | 319 comments This one is set in the same world as the Lord of the White Hell, but takes place about five years later and follows Elezar's adventures in the north... I'm thinking wolves, bears and witches!

Aww thanks!
(I hope it's awesome... I'll do my best!)

Sagajo I wanted to know if Kiram found a place to work on his mechanical inventions? It felt a bit unsure, with them both leaving school and Javier becoming a shaman, that Kiram would find time, money and a place to continue his work...

Yes, I think so.

Kiram is as inventive as ever!

I'm hoping to show a little of that in this next book, as well as just how he and Javier are making their living now-- but I can't promise anything at this stage of writing.

Sherry F | 3 comments Any thoughts on a follow-up for Belimai and Will? They so badly deserve to be okay and happy out in the country!

Yes, I've been writing about them-- little bits here and there. It's building up slowly.

Bluesimplicity | 31 comments Great interview! Thanks for posting the link Nicole.

If you don't mind me asking, having read the interview, what were the songs you listened while writing both the Rifter and The Lord of The White Hell series?

Also, add my YAAAAAY to a "sequel" for White Hell. I ABSOLUTELY ADORE that series, but I have to admit, compared to The Rifer, I felt it was less complete. Not that the story wasn't amazing, but I felt when I finished His Holy Bones this final sense of closure. I knew what had happened and it felt as if everything had come full circle. In the world of The White Hell, I felt a bit like Sagajo - there were so many unaswered questions and (just what I perceived mind you) unrest in that world, that I would have loved to read more. Again, this is NOT a criticism, I'm just THRILLED to know we readers get to go back there and see what else has happened since.

Oh, and this "I don't, in any way, accept that my marriage to my wife poses a threat to anyone" - YES times a million!!

Blue

The song I listened to while writing the Rifter was Raven by a band called Hedningarna.

For the Lord of the White Hell I listened to Aaj Ki Raat (performed by the Kronos Quartet) while writing the first book and Gallop of a Thousand Horses, also performed by the Kronos Quartet for the second book.

I know what you mean about the feeling of more going on in the world of Lord of the White Hell. When I first conceived of the setting and its history I was thinking that it could support a series of stories. I left myself material to work with and places for the characters to go after the first book... I'm hoping that in the end (after a couple more stories maybe) the books will have created the feeling of a larger world and over-arching plot...
At least that's the challenge I've set for myself-- I hope I'm up to it!

That is awesome :) Frankly, I'm just happy to see anything from this world!

I think you've done a fantastic job of weaving in details and hints of a worl..."

Thanks for the encouragement!

As soon as I have something more solid I'll probably make a little post of it!
