This is to discuss what we are all currently reading, especially any sort of romantic historical fiction that you have read lately. I am currently listening to The King's Mistress about Alice Perrers, the Mistress of King Edward III of England. It is quite an interesting read so far.

If anyone likes Ancient Rome. I just finished Empress of the Seven Hills about a Roman legionary and a senator's daughter. It was quite a good romance in my opinion. Also just startedBlue Asylum about two people finding love in a Civil War era mental institution. It is quite good so far.

I will add that as our July read. I am adding a discussion thread just for suggestions if anyone else has something they would like us to read.

April this topic is one where you can always update what you are reading. You definitely don't have to stop at just one post! Right now, I am reading Grave Mercy by R.L. LaFevers. It is a historical fiction/fantasy novel about a girl trained as an assassin in Brittany in the 1400s. It is quite good so far. I am also listening to My Name Is Memory on audiobook. I do recommend the audio version. It has two narrators one for Daniel and the other for Sophia/Constance/Lucy. It's quite good so far.

I am fighting my way through The Autobiography of Henry VIII: With Notes by His Fool, Will Somers. Its 900+ pages so its been slow going. I'm reading it for a Tudor reading challenge. Its fascinating. Its one of the few Tudor books actually written from Henry's perspective and not that of wives/mistresses/friends etc. Margaret George is one of my favorite authors but none of her books are less than 800 pages so it is a commitment when you read one :-P

Melissa (missie322) I just started The Orchardist. I'm not far enough into it to say how I feel about it. I won it through a GR Giveaway, so I'm hoping I can give it a good review :)

Hi I am glad you joined the group! I look forward to your review of The Orchardist it is on my to read list. By the how do include a books title so that it is linked to info on good reads by just tapping it?

April if you want to add a link to a book to your post, you just click where it says add book/author at the top of the comment box. You can then search for the book title or author, click add next to the book cover you want and it will automatically add a link to that book or author's page on goodreads.

I loved A Respectable Trade, I hope you enjoy it. There are some very poignant parts, and no doubt it's a book that gets you thinking, but I thought it was marvelously done.

That's a great one April. I really loved it. Another one that I liked during that same period was The Turning of Anne Merrick. You might like that as well.

LAWonder10 | 1 comments I just finished reading WARRING SPIRITS by April W. Gardner. WOW! What a profoundly moving piece of Literature! It is a tremendous Historical Romance a man would probably enjoy as much as a woman.
