Books on the Nightstand discussion

I am trying to see how long I can go without buying a new book and just reading books I already have. I hate this challenge. We aren't out of January and I hate this one. I easily have 1000 or probably twice as many that people have given me over the years and I have "meant to get to"

I should impose such a challenge on myself as well, but then I'd have to stop listening to BOTNS because the temptation would kill me!

Yes, its definitely a challenge I should undertake too - I have, however, bought at least 10 this year already!

as far as BOTN goes I just keep putting books on my pinterest or amazon wish list so I can look at them later, next year is going to be expensive

That's the trouble! If I didn't buy any books this year they'd still be on my wish list for next year and I'd just have to get them!

Yes, what about library books?
It's my crazy dream to have an "As heard on Books on the Nightstand" display in every public library...
While we do love it when you all buy the books we recommend, we love it equally as well when you borrow them from the library.
So please don't stop listening!

Your Library doesn't have a BOTNS sign?

Our library director just retired, so maybe the new one will be more innovative.

I have been v. frustrated with my local library in many ways, and I need to get over it. I've never told them about BOTNS.

Hey! When I get back home, I'll see about getting a BOTNS display.

Strangely, I've talked to my library each day I've been gone (for different reasons). Yesterday I was told, "Yeah, I knew you were gone because there are boxes and boxes of books that have come in (for our used book sale in May).

Maybe I can hold the library hostage. Put up a BOTNS display and I'll take care of the pile of books.

Talked to the library today. We should have a BOTNS display within a few months - possibly tying in with the summer reading program.

And here was I feeling guilty havin about 89 unread books on my shelf. Thanks, I will now continue to keep purxhasing ;-)

If you do it, I'll do it. Right this minute I have twelve BOXES of books to be sold or donated. I do not need any more, still...all my Indies call to me...
