Mikela | 378 comments There are a lot of them: just about all Coetzee's books, Veronika decides to Die by Coelho, The Virgin Suicides, Lord of the Flies, The Quiet American, Sidhartha, Their Eyes Were Watching God are just a few that I've read and enjoyed.

Shovelmonkey1 | 190 comments The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie is one that I would recommend as a quick and short read at under 200 pages.
Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto is under 150 pages (I think)
The Castle of Otranto under 200 pages
Junkie by William Burroughs under 150 pages
Thursbitch by Alan Garner

Chel | 380 comments So Long a Letter is short but hard to find. I ordered mine off the internet after searching other places. It is an African classic.
