Dawn (delta108) Just finished. Enjoyed very much. It can be violent in some portions of the book and very tender and touching in other parts. I definitely continue on with her next book.

1) Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon

message 2: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 2) Stranger in My Arms by Lisa Kleypas

It was a nice fast read for a romance novel. It had a interesting, but not too surprising ending.

message 3: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 3) The Dark Highlander by Karen Marie Moning

I found this book after reading Outlander. Very good,.

message 4: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) The Bronze Horseman

This book was recommended to me only to learn it's the first of three. It was excellent!

I do suggest you read this book with several blankets and something hot to drink with a large stash of food near by. I was always cold and hungry for some reason.

message 5: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 5) A Midnight Dance

Very steamy romance novel. I was given the impression it was to follow the Cinderella theme. The only similarities is one person is the called
Sab(Ella ).

It was okay. There was times the story was slow.

message 6: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 6) Dark Embrace (Rose Trilogy, #1) (Masters of Time Series, #3) by Brenda Joyce

Hero was in a severe depression for 90% of the book.

Ha, ha thanks. There should be a surgeons warning that the following bit of literature will cause severe mood swings, feelings of "unhappily everafter", and in the end make one wonder if It was worth it

On the upside. She is a popular writer with good reviews so another try is in the future.

message 9: by Donna (new)

Donna | 1350 comments Well, as a committed romancephile (let's be honest, romance-a-holic,) I'd have to say popular and good are not necessarily synonymous in this genre. Then again, I formed my opinion of Joyce a very long (really LONG) time ago.

Would you recommend it? I love Cinderella-themed books, but this one only has 100+ ratings and I have this rule that I'll only read books with at least 500...

I did not see the Cinderella theme in this book. It was written up as one and I too love Cinderella theme books. So, no I would not recommend this book based on that theme.

Dawn (delta108) 7) In Bed with a Highlander (McCabe Trilogy, #1) by Maya Banks

Can never go wrong a Highlander historical romance. :)

message 13: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 8) Deadly Sins (The Callahan's, #2) by Lora Leigh

The mystery is not solved by the end of book. Most likely another novel will be written in connection to this one.

message 14: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 9) Fifty Shades of Grey
10) Fifty Shades Darker
11) Fifty Shades Freed

Fast read. I don't usually read grouping because I get bored, which probably why I didn't like the last as well as the first two.

message 15: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 12) The Viper

message 16: by Dawn (last edited Apr 11, 2012 12:16PM) (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) Everyone recommended the book and for pod reason. It is funny and sweet

13) The Bride

message 17: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 14) Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon

Enjoyed the continuing story of Claire & Jamie. Diana Gabaldon has a sense of humor while telling historical fiction story. This story is not as violent as Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon , but does end sad. To be continued...

message 18: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 15) More Than a Mistress by Mary Balogh

It was okay. Started strong and then it slowed down.

message 19: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 16) Playing For Keeps by Liz Matis

Fast read.

message 20: by Dawn (last edited May 09, 2012 08:42PM) (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) It was a fun romance to read where the heroine is not stick thin. She is described a more of a full figured woman, heathy weight.

17) One Dance with a Duke (Stud Club, #1) by Tessa Dare

message 21: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 18)Wanted - Dead or Alive

The story was interesting between Jesse and Samantha. The book could drag at points.

Dawn (delta108) 19) Highland Groom (Murray Family, #8) (MacEnroy, #2) by Hannah Howell

20) Highland Lover (Murray Family #12) (Camerons #3) by Hannah Howell

Never read her books before, enjoyed both of them a lot.

Dawn (delta108) 21) Scotsmen Prefer Blondes (Muses of Mayfair #2) by Sara Ramsey

Bravo! Never read one of her books before. I liked it very much.

Dawn (delta108) 22). Voyager by Diana Gabaldon! Voyager (Outlander, #3) by Diana Gabaldon

This is a third book in the Outlander series. It seems to be a poplar novel to a lot of the Outlander followers. This is not my favorite in the series. It seems to be a bridge novel to prepare us for the next five going on six novels.

message 25: by Dawn (last edited Jul 14, 2012 08:14AM) (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 23) Her Husband's Harlot;

It was a slow read. It did pick up at the end and come together well. I just felt the male character was "brooding" for 90% of the book. He needed to see a shrink or his wife should have slapped his face and told him to "snap out of it!"

Her Husband's Harlot (Mayhem in Mayfair, #1) by Grace Callaway

message 26: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 24) A Kingdom of Dreams (Westmoreland, #1) by Judith McNaught ;

My first Judith McNaught novel. It was highly recommended, this being the #2 and Whitney My Love as the best written love stories.

In A Kingdom of Dreams, I love the the heroine, Jenny, who is very resourceful when she and her sister, Brenna, were taken captive by the English army to be used against their clan.

When Jenny fights Duke Claymore and attempts to escape several times, he takes it personal especially after he went out of his way to protect them from his own soilders.

It was definitely worth the trip through this book.

Dawn (delta108) 25) An Introduction to Pleasure

26) Everything Forbidden

I enjoyed both books. Top ones more racy than the other novel.

message 28: by Dawn (last edited Aug 28, 2012 06:18PM) (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 27) Drums of Autumn (Outlander, #4) by Diana Gabaldon

Book 4 of the Outlander series. Jamie & Claire have settled in America. Also are now being introduced to the next generation.

28) Love's Portrait by Monica Burns

Very entertaining for a romance novel. This time we have a female who refuses to commit. Interesting to read it from this point of view.

message 29: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 29) Master of the Highlands (Highlands; Veronica Wolff #1) by Veronica Wolff

Heroine while on vacation in Scotland walks through a maze and ends up in 17th Century Scotland. This has happened once before, and between grandmother's cradle songs to old witches foreseeing the future, the past & future meet for a reason.

message 30: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 30) The Darkest Hour (KGI, #1) by Maya Banks

My first of reading her KGI series. I liked the book. I enjoyed her Highlander series better, but I will be continuing on this too.

message 31: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 31) Gabriel's Inferno (Gabriel's Inferno #1) by Sylvain Reynard

The best book I read this year! Where "Fifty Shades of Gray" is very sexual, the book is sensual and flows slowly, not too slowly, like a perfect dance partner. I look forward to her next book.

message 32: by Dawn (last edited Oct 02, 2012 05:40PM) (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) Read the book as it was recommended by a friend. I usually don't read vampire stories, but this one did have its charm until I was dreaming of vampires, (not good).

I did finish the book and could read the next as it is the Halloween season.

32) . Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward

message 33: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 33) Bared to You (Crossfire, #1) by Sylvia Day

Very good.

34) Gabriel's Rapture (Gabriel's Inferno #2) by Sylvain Reynard

Excellent. The first book was better, but this book was also very good.

message 34: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 35) Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) by Jamie McGuire

Very good story. I don't normally read young adult novels but this was suggested and worth it.

message 35: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 36) Backstage Pass (Sinners on Tour #1) by Olivia Cunning
37) Rock Hard (Sinners on Tour, #2) by Olivia Cunning

Both by Olivia Cunning and shows a glimpse into the life of a rock band, sex, drugs and rock n roll. It also has a sweet love story between the band members and their women.

38) Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #2) by J.R. Ward

Second book of the Dragger Black Brotherhood. I did not like this one as much as the first. This book however does bring us into the next book towards the end, which involves a vampire who is unreachable, or is he?

message 36: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 39) Reflected in You (Crossfire, #2) by Sylvia Day

Very frustrating book. Most of the time they are fighting and broken up. Then on the last paragraph of the book he asks, where do we go from here? It might not be the book store.

40) No Place to Run (KGI, #2) by Maya Banks

Not as entertaining as the first book. I enjoy the big family, etc, but at times the story line got slow.

message 37: by Rose (new)

Rose (obsessedreader9) | 215 comments Well, Dawn, I don't know who'd want to read Reflected In You after you revealed what's in the last paragraph.

I liked the first book in the series and was disappointed in the second. There is going to be a third, so I will have to decide if I will continue on. This is only my opinion. A lot of readers liked both books.

Rose (obsessedreader9) | 215 comments Dawn, regardless of whether or not you liked the first book, but not the second, you gave away the ending: that is strictly taboo!

I would hope there was more to the story than the last paragraph. Which there was. If by chance if someone is only reading this blog to get a review on this book, they should know that the entire story does not rest on the last few lines of this nove, believe me.

Like I wrote before there is a third book, so no one should be surprised the story continues. I am sorry if you feel I spoiled the novel for you.

message 41: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 41) Undone

Very good. I liked this book better than A Dance At Midnight. Lila Di Pasquale writes her stories based off of real historical events. She does not follow the conventually fairy tale, so it may be disappointing to those who were looking for a tale closer to Rapunzel.

message 42: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 42) The Fiery Cross (Outlander, #5) by Diana Gabaldon

Book five in the Outlander series. The series is excellen.

43) Honor Student (Honor Series, #1) by Teresa Mummert
44) Honor Thy Teacher (Honor Series, #2) by Teresa Mummert

The same story told first by her view, the by his view.

message 43: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 45) Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3) by J.R. Ward

I enjoyed this one as much as the 1st book. I like Zsadist, as he is probably like each of us in someway, hopefully not as tortured.

message 44: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 46) The Undoing of a Libertine by Raine Miller

Fun story. More towards a romance novel which is fine.

47) A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows by Diana Gabaldon

A Must read for DG fans.

48) A Winter Scandal by Candace Camp

message 45: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 49) A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander, #6) by Diana Gabaldon

Book six in the Outlander series. I love this series, and happily moving on to book seven.

message 46: by Dawn (new) - added it

Dawn (delta108) 50) Cooper's Fall

It was a short story, but finished before the end of the year.
