Kimberly Chapman | 13 comments Oh a place to share fun cakes, eh? How about this one I made a couple of years ago for the Austin cake show? I still have the head in my cabinet, which I call Not Quite Hugh. :D

More at http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/cak...

I have a bit of a thing for Hugh Jackman, and by "bit of a thing" I mean "complete obsession". :D He's even the model in my head for the lead character of my latest release: Finding Gaia by Kimberly Chapman

message 158: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 391 comments Kyle, I'm afraid to even ask what your 9" wonder is:) But Kimberly, I'm so impressed with your cake! I've watched that show off and on, and I'd never be brave enough to compete on it. Yowza! I used Hugh Jackman as my mental picture for Enoch in my novel Fallen Angels too. He makes for great creativity and fantasies!

Kimberly Chapman | 13 comments Judith wrote: "He makes for great creativity and fantasies! "

He does indeed. I have a whole 'nother book in my head where he's also the lead, but younger.

Doing the cake meant I could have pictures of him plastered all over my kitchen for a couple of months and call 'em "research". >:D

Judith Post | 391 comments Sounds a bit shady to me--wish I'd have thought of it:), but my cakes would be hopeless. I can bake, but no patience for decorating. Your cake was awesome.

L.F. Falconer | 41 comments Sooo, just had my first book-signing and even though I didn't earn a dime, it was a huge success as a charity event. Having used a little domestic violence as a plot device in my novel, I chose my local domestic violence intervention organization as the charity to receive the proceeds of the book-signing. I managed to raise over $500 in donations to DVI, raise awareness for their cause, and gain a lot of good exposure for myself, my current novel, and my upcoming novel as well, while building up my local image. And a good time was had by all :) Hope Flies on Broken Wings by L.F. Falconer
