My debut novel Too Many Sparrows In Zaragoza has recently published in Malta. I take great pride in the work as I aim to deliver on what I belief literature should be: a fictional thought experiment for others to learn from.

My story follows Nadi, a psychologist from Malta, who spends ten days in the Spanish city of Zaragoza. There she stays with her old friend Luis, who, Nadi discovers, is leading a hedonistic, eccentric and aesthetic lifestyle. They embark on a journey full of Freudian psychology, anthropology, morality, religion, and nature. But how far can the good life go before it goes wrong? That is the thought experiment that is at the heart of my novel.

It is not a romance, not a vampire thriller, nor an erotic novel. It is a novel that seeks to make its readers ask themselves questions, making them play devil's advocate with their own lives, and see what comes out.

I am not sure if anyone here has heard this, but this summer I've been working at making my digital and paperback books INTERACTIVE.

While I am certain most of your books are regular novels where you just pick them up and read cover to cover, my books have a lot of reference materials in them at the back -- always a glossary, plus background information usually.

The problem I've found is that often readers do not flip to the back of the book to read this content -- at least not while reading the book.

What I've done is create more than 100 individual web pages and QR codes for smartphones. In the digital editions, I insert hypertext links to each special web page; for the paperback, smart phone readers scan the square QR codes with their phones to access this content.

So far I've succeeded in fully indexing book one, The Great Succession Crisis in both digital formats and QR interactive (the regular paperback copies do not have QR codes except in the reference article on heraldry). I am working on book two, The Ghosts of the Past.
